I don’t like BMWs but I don’t pretend my Honda’s are better engineered. They just fit my own needs better.

Liking streaming and Bluetooth headphones is one thing trying to convince others that better things are no better is another.
Hey everybody has an opinion, you have an opinion because of the way Movies and TV Shows look to you. With my equipment and setup IMO it's Disc like to me, especially BD 1080P. My Headphones are not Bluetooth, they are Wireless Digital Surround Sound.

When you start talking about cars, I've had many models. Mostly Chevy's, Camaro's, Chevelle, Corvette, and Honda's. I think Honda's are great. Do you know they only run Chevy and Honda engines at the Indianapolis 500?

Correction: your headphones offer simulated surround sound. Simulated is NOT the real thing; it is a nice synonym for "fake." Do you need another link to a dictionary?

And not "especially BD"; you mean "only BD" as that is all that you have ever directly compared to streaming. You are comparing blu-rays to 4K streams and then you tell us with amazement how well a 4K stream compares to a blu-ray.

Just finished watching this and it was fine. It's barely 90-minutes with credits, so don't expect depth or general backstory from any character. It's just non-stop marine warfare. The Dolby Vision and Atmos was fantastic.

I enjoyed The Old Guard more, but this was cool, too.

I'd say that if you're still able to get a trial subscription to ATV+ then it's worth it for this, otherwise you'll have to wait to import the 4K disc from overseas since Apple owns the streaming rights for 15 years in the states. Unless Apple changes their stance on physical media, don't hold your breath for a disc release here.

Streaming rights and physical distribution rights are NOT the same thing. I fully expect that this will get a domestic disc release.

Thanks for the review, though. I do want to see it, but not with Crapple.

Blame Sony for advertising MDR-DS6500 as Digital Surround Wireless Headphones back in 2011.

Your headphones are incapable of truly separate surround channels. It uses a array of multiple magnetic transducers placed in some fashion that simulates to the ear some minor sensation of surround sound from a L+R audio.

The current bunch of gaming headphones use the term "Virtual Surround Sound". They also try to say they are 7.1, but its all virtual.

I notice that we now have a new marketing spin with Lee's VC-2 post pointing to https://www.vc-2hq.com/ link

Quote:
typically up to 4 times visually lossless
Is this something the brits made up?

Quote:
British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) developed and open sourced a Wavelet-based video codec named Dirac. A low-complexity profile of the Dirac codec named Dirac Pro, which does not use motion compensation, was standardized by SMPTE as the VC-2 codec. Silex Insight’s VC-2 HQ IP implements the VC-2 codec and associated support for handling the compressed bitstream.

I can hear the jokes coming! I can't see any difference in video quality, so its visually lossless.

It was just a joke and a pretty mild one when compared to some that you have made. You have been trolling this thread and insulting people for five years and long before I ever posted here.

Allow me to quote alchav the "gentleman" :

He also doesn't like the PQ of HDX Digital, even though he has never seen it.
We may not see "low blows" from the person that you attacked here, but we sure see them from you.

England may give up on Home Theater, and Little Kindergarten Kids may take over but The States are different. We live in the Real World, and Streaming Digital is now with HDX and UHD! I watch Movies before they come out on Disc or the Movie Theaters.
The irony of the underlined part!

Calling someone a "_____" Lover is a very derogatory term with a definite racist origin. That phrase began with a very different word other than "Disc" in front of "Lover"; you should be ashamed for co-opting such a hateful and racist expression to ridicule those who prefer discs.

You love to end your comments with an insult and in this instance directed at a member who had nothing to do with your comment; you took this gratuitous potshot at a member whom you consider to be a gentleman, too.

Stop playing the victim. You are as guilty of being as nasty as anyone that you accuse.

You were a troll then, are a troll now, and will be a troll tomorrow.

Why don't you do yourself a favor, stop posting silly crap, being a hypocrite and being a nail. If you insist on being a nail here you will get hammered.

That old post of mine reminded me of how he has flip flopped on the subject of bitrates as an objective measurement of quality.

There be lots of sales!

The Semi-annual 50% Off Criterion sale at B&N

The 4 for $44 sale at WBShop

The on going sale at the Disney Movie Club

Flash sales at Amazon.

I'd be losing money if I didn't buy right now.

I’m dreading the rumoured delivery tax, it will hit me hard considering I already pay customs on a small selection of discs.

It won’t stop me though, nothing will.
