True!

I think of Sons of Anarchy and Dune first.

I've never seen SoA, and haven't seen Dune in ages.

Did you read my response to Wabo at the bottom of the last page? I think you and me are more on the same page about Alien/Aliens.

Terminator Salvation was the first thing that I put on after I got my second subwoofer. It has some amazing LFE! I particularly like the huge robot at the gas station part.

Nah, Aliens is better.

Some people might think that two subs are overkill, but it's not necessarily about sheer brute force. Two subs will give you more reserve power, since you don't have to turn them each as loud, which means better dynamics and cleaner, tighter sound, plus you get much smoother response all around the room.

Ya I'm with ya on that frog 100% placement isn't as critical either and like you said the sweet spot gets much larger threw out the room .

I'm glad you guys agree. I don't exactly know how to explain it, but when I got my second sub, it really seemed to improve the overall sound quality of my entire setup, not just the LFE. I think maybe the improved dynamics and smoother response around the room from the subs just translated to the overall audio appearing to be more dynamic and smooth.

It's coming up on 4:30 in the morning here. You guys have a great night!

You getting/get the new release of The Terminator? Got a great review.

Love those movies. Prefer the first to the the sequel. Too much dopey dialog for me, same problem as Aliens. First is a great thriller, like Halloween or Alien.

Gonna go watch the original BD, and decide if I need to replace it.

Good afternoon Russ.

I just missed you by a couple of minutes last night/this morning. I'm watching the Titans and Colts right now.

Yeah, I just read Dr. Svet's review and it's got me excited to see this. It got a 5/5 for the picture quality, and the new 5.1 DTS-HD MA audio got a 4/5. I ordered the UK version last Wednesday along with the older Optimum UK release of T2 Special Edition which is supposed to be DNR free, so hopefully I'll have them in the next 2-4 days.

I've never really thought that much about it, but you're right. Alien/Aliens is very similar to T1/T2 as far as the tone change goes. The first one is more of a dark thriller, and the second one is more of an action film with a little comedy thrown in.
