Actually, I always heard it was Stokely Chaffin, even back during the films shooting. She had a bug up her ass about Kane.

I heard the same back then as well. It's also speculated that Chaffin was responsible for her then "special friend" David Goyer's dumbing down of Shannon & Swift's script (Freddy explaining his plan every five minutes, etc.)

Nevertheless, 1428 Films has done another outstanding job and deserve all the accolades.

Started watching this last night and before I knew it Chapter 5 was starting and it was midnight....This is an amazing documentary. I knew some things, but alot of this is giving context to bits and pieces I knew and a whole bunch of new stuff. The director on chapter 4 with the whole raft, death scene situation was crazy. Let her outta the boat, good thing Jason stepped in....so-to-speak! I hope to watch more tonight....

I met him after a Bacon Bros concert and he was great. Signed my FRIDAY poster no issues.
But you didnt exactly bring the film up in conversation...he could have brushed you off. As far Leno and Bacon ...thats for the cameras. I am speculating...I dont think he hates it... I think he was ashamed...now more willing to accept it for what it is ...because us the fans certainly wont forget. For years he publically never acknowledged being in it. I get the impression he feels its beneath him. IE no conventions..no interviews... commentary.. etc

I spent all day yesterday watching this from beginning to end. For anyone on the fence, let me assure you that if you're a F13/horror fan this is a must for your collection.

I think he was just a huge actor that was famous for a lot of stuff and F13 gets lost in that.

Miguel Nunez seems like a rare case, some actors in the "Friday" films go two different routes, one is that it's their 15 minutes of fame and the other is some level of stardom which is extremely rare you know, and Kevin Bacon if my memory serves me is really the only guy who did shoot up to the A-list and still remains there to this day. Corey Feldman was once A-list, but I think his demand for movies has had it's ups and downs, but he still remains a great dude as seen in this documentary. Terry Kiser may be the next biggest in line after being in "The New Blood" he hit it big with "Weekend at Bernie's" which opened just a year later. Then there's obviously David Cronenberg's cameo in "Jason X", but let's stick to the "Paramount" years.

Back to Nunez, he didn't go A-list, but at the same time this wasn't his 15 minutes of fame either. Just glancing at his filmography he's had everything from cameos to supporting roles in the following movies: "Return of the Living Dead" (obviously), "Lethal Weapon", "Action Jackson", "Lethal Weapon 3", "Street Fighter", "For Richer or Poorer", "Life", "Nutty Professor II", "Scooby Doo", "Juwanna Mann" (in which was the star!), and a couple other features.

So it's a little puzzling. Maybe he had a bad experience on set of "A New Beginning", maybe he thinks he's above it since finding bigger successes and only did the "Return of the Living Dead" documentary cause he's partial to it for essentially giving him his career, I believe he said he was homeless at the time. Whatever the reason, I'm glad he does completely ignore his horror past and does do some conventions, cause I'm sure a lot of fans do love the guy.

I think your wrong. I don't want to have to go back and listen to the entire Howard Stern interview, but I do believe he's asked about it and if memory serves me correct he says something to the effect of it was a good experience and enjoyed being in the nude scene with a woman. For the sake of putting this to rest I will go back and find out for sure what he said.

From Howard Stern interview, 01/16/2013.

On the topic of a scene in the film, well this image in particular:

Stern: ..he pulls out a picture blown up of you in "Friday the 13th" in a bathing suit and it appears you have a boner.
(Kevin Bacon laughing)
Stern: Tell me what's going on, that isn't photo shopped or anything? (laughing) Is your cock that big?
Bacon: No, it's not.
Stern: What is that?
Bacon: I don't know what that was. The weird thing is that the water was so cold there.
(more talk)
Bacon: Maybe it was a pair of socks or something.

Bacon goes on to explain there's a thing on YouTube called "Kevin Bacon can't run or dive for shit." He proceeds to explain that it makes fun of him running and diving and how bad or goofy it looked in the film.

Howard asks if they had a stunt double to do that stuff and Bacon says "No stunt double, this is "Friday the 13th" and proceeds to make a joke about how they didn't have a $1.99, making fun of the low budget they were all on. Howard then asks if it was his first big movie he was in and Bacon corrects him saying he did "Animal House."

It's a really good interview and Bacon is very candid, you can hear it all here -

Ummm, yes I did. I told him that I was one of the biggest Friday The 13th fans in the world. There was at least 7-9 people there, and MOST had Friday the 13th stuff. He hung out with us for a good ten minutes.

The only other thing we talked about was when he was also signing my Flatliners dvd insert, he asked if I had ever tried to meet Julia Roberts, which I had, and he was bummed to hear that SHE brushed me off.

Your forgetting Crispin Glover. He still pops up here and there in some big films.

I think maybe Nunez just couldn't work out the timing. I know that Tiffany Helm and Juliette Cummins(who did the Psycho Legacy) were set to be interviewed, but just couldn't clear their schedules, and instead of waiting, the producers just skipped them.
I met Helm, but totally forgot to ask her about her original death scene and what not. She did force me to do the robot dance with her.

I just spent the last 3 days watching everything! The best $30 I've spent on Blu-ray(s)
[Show spoiler]Still want my money back for the NOTLD disaster. You hear me Savini!?

I wonder why they left out some of the fan/director interviews and the AVGN episode from His Name Was Jason? That's about the only thing worth owning that DVD set for.

On one hand, I also hate Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X, and enjoy Freddy vs. Jason, plus directorially I think it makes complete sense to cast a towering Jason to add a visual dynamic to the fights (I like Kane as Jason, and he was really wonderful at the convention I saw him at, but it doesn't mean that much to me to see him replaced because Jason was never a long-standing legacy thing like Freddy).

On the other hand, the treatment for FvJvA was indeed atrocious.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't wish to see Kane replaced at that time because he was the only constant in the Friday films and would have been the only person involved in the actual production that had any real history with the franchise during the Paramount and New Line years (Sean Cunningham was producer in name only on that film.)

Freddy had Englund and Shaye there, Jason really had no one. Old news now, but still, would have been nice for Englund and Hodder to end the original series together.

I placed the order few days ago from CrystalLakeMemories.net I paid by paypal. All I got was the paypal receipt that I purchased it. Never got anything from CrystalLakeMemories.net not even a thank you for your order E-mail from them.

So I decided to send an e-mail and it has been two-days and I still did not even get a reply back.

Who here got their boxset from CrystalLakeMemories.net and how long did it take and also did they ever send a confirmation e-mail from anyone @ CrystalLakeMemories.net ?

Thanks.

I got a paypal receipt when I placed the order but nothing from crystallakememories.net. I later got an email stating that it had been shipped from CVT. You might check your spam folder because that is where my emails were both sent.

Frustrating, but its normal in this case.....a lot of us were complaining about this silence treatment back when we first pre-ordered; you get spoiled by the Amazon constant notification system . Odds are everything is normal and you should get some kind if shipping notification.

Yes!

I got that feeling as well and thought I was the only one, if you watch the Never Sleep Again documentary he comes off as very defensive during the whole Kane/Ken debate.

I ordered mine Sept. 9th and received it Sept. 18th. I got a receipt from PayPal and a delivery notification from stamps.com. Everything should be cool with your order.
