Many years ago they had probably the biggest one in the country. Now, it's a smaller one that is 95% stuff and 5% media. |

The Fort Gratiot (Port Huron), Michigan location will close on January 26. I was there tonight and the selection is getting low quickly. All movies are now 50% off for new and 60% off for used. Plus the extra 10% off works if you have Backstage. This store always had a good selection, and I was able to find some great deals today with the discounts.

Started clearance at my local store as it will be closing by the end of this month. 90% off new media and 2 for $1 on used media. Got some fantastic deals tonight. The highlight of which was Arrow's release of David Lynch's "Dune" on Blu-ray. No 4K but the blu is sourced from the same 4K master and, for $3, that's good enough for me.

An FYE near me is closing too. I hope to get out there one more time before it does, but I probably won't be able to. Sad day, lots of good memories there. The mall it's in has already been a ghost town for years and this feels like the last nail. They weren't doing any multi-buy used deals last I checked, I only got Hellboy in 4k for about $7 last time I was in a few weeks ago.

My FYE closed last year, I think. Before it was an FYE, it was a Record Town/Saturday Matinee, and at one point they also bought the Camelot Music in the same mall, so I had the fortune of having two FYE's in the same mall. Great times. And then came the Funko's and it all went downhill. When it was Record Town/Saturday Matinee or Camelot, it was a sea of VHS, DVD, and CD's. Tens of thousands of movies and albums. Sure, they carried some McFarlane action figures and other paraphernalia, but it was a tiny percentage of their offerings. When they scaled back the media, they bit themselves in the ass. What's the point of a movie/music shop that barely sells movies and music? They lost their identity and was a shell of its former self. But I cherish those days I could browse for hours in that enormous store.
