On the opening of the movie you have 5 layers of birds flying very pronounced and after that Zazu's flying from the screen to the Pride Rock with really stunning depth. We can't forget that this movie is a conversion of an hand drawn 2D animated feature from 1994. Its 3D is far beyond what i thought it would be and far beyond my recent buy of Dragon Ball Z Resurrection of 'F' blu-ray 3D that pales in comparison.

I had seen the listing for dba but it was old and one had to contact the seller so I skipped it.

I watched Jupiter Ascending today and it's definitely worth having in a 3D collection. @Levcore said "The fx are great too with loads of dynamic and exciting action scenes. I'm a big fan of the production design too, which is really brought to life in 3D." I would say that about covers the visual aspects of the movie. However although I'm an easy mark, I still felt strangely disconnected from the story itself so I wrote a review on the Jupiter Ascending thread.

Sorry, Okiephile, but I have to strongly disagree. While I found "John Carter" to be an enjoyable movie, I can't blame (or credit) the story to ERB. The plot, the themes, the culture moods diverged strongly away from ERB's 1912 "A Princess of Mars". Gone was the chivalry and romance reminiscent of the knights of the round table stories, and it seemed like they were just making sh*t up, both in plot and attitudes. Being a huge ERB fan (I have all of this works, many in first editions), I both enjoyed the film and was horribly disappointed at the same time. I was especially turned off by the Disney like cartoon characterization of his doglike companion Woola. If you haven't done so already, read ERB's "A Princess of Mars" and to complete the story "The Gods of Mars" and "The Warlord of Mars". I think you will find them a real eye opener and well worth the time and effort.

It got mostly great reviews for both story and 3D (reviews can be translated into English on the following:
