Nope, not OFFICIALLY. Unless Disney is having problems that I'm unaware of it will be out before the end of this year. It could be in May or October, or even December. Disney has a trailer for it promoting it for 2010 now, but has already cancelled/delayed Dumbo which was advertised for Spring 2010, and February 2010 in a flyer. So until you see an official announcement with specs, nothing is completely official with Disney. Also, the titles still aren't showing up in any retailer databases, which is usually done about 2-3 months ahead of release for major titles to give retailers time to pre-order. This hasn't been done yet, but will probably occur in late February or early March based on Disney's current habit of adding titles about 2 months before release.
Expect no news about this release until it's been sent for replication. Disney is trying to get the news accurate from the first announcement so that there is no confusion about the releases.

I'm sure Disney is taking good care of this title and won't release it before its time

BD replication still takes a long time (especially for wide mass-market releases), so Disney still has room for only two vintage Platinum animateds in its schedule per year, and adding the third for last-minute park-promotion value threw a wrench into the production line--
I'm sure we'll see all three dated by year's end, their eyes just got a little bigger than their release schedules.

Disney, just give me the Beauty and the Beast blu-ray this year and i'm set. Current prices on this title are ridiculous.

If they're actually working some more on the restoration (as is the main reason for postponing it) why does that mean they're lazy?

Replication & shipping on a major Disney title only takes about 4-6 weeks from the time the disc is finally authored. Trust me...the delays have nothing to do with replication issues anymore. Disney announced temporary specs and artwork a few months in advance, then they announce
the final specs and bonus features when they finally send the discs off to replication. As it was for Sleeping Beauty, Up and several other discs, so it shall be for the titles they release this year. This is usually about 4-6 weeks ahead of the actual release. In the case of Princess and the Frog, they decided to skip the first step and just wait until the replication was being completed. Dumbo and Fantasia will be announced when they have gone to the printing press/replication factory.

If you do that while watching Fantasia, I'm sure you'll get an interesting experience (can also be done while watching Alice in Wonderland) .

If Fantasia is delayed, it is only delayed to coincide with the Nicholas Cage film, The Sorcerer's Apprentice. While I would like to believe BVHV gurus read these boards and suddenly realized a 1982 version of Fantasia exists that would rock home theater audio all over the world, I doubt that's the reason for any delay. More likely, they are just using synergy to cross promote one title with the other. The Cage Sorcerer's Apprentice film comes to theaters in July, I think it's safe to say now we're going to see Fantasia near that theatrical release or near the home video release date of the same film. *shrug*

I'd like to believe the delay is because of issues regarding Fantasia 1982. But even I can't believe in that kind of fairy tale.

Good, that's the first step--Now if that's a promise, could you freakin' STOP, please?
It got old about six Disney threads ago.

I knew there was a Disney release due out this year which I was forgetting....in self-defense, in this case. Maybe it'll be brilliant, but live-action + Sorcerer's Spprentice + Nicolas Cage seems to me to = .
Maybe that's unfair. I'll admit I've studiously avoided any information about the film. But it makes more sense of the Fantasias' schedule shuffle than any other move WDHE has made this year.

I'm actually feeling more hopeful as time goes by about the inclusion of the '82 soundtrack. The additional licensing may be a dealbreaker, but it seems there's never been a better opportunity than this upcoming release.

The trailer does not inspire confidence.

I'm still confident it'll be March 2nd. Thats what Amazon.co.uk told me, its what Wikipedia and another of other websites state too. It just makes sense that 2 Diamond Edition releases are released at opposite ends of the year, not right next to B & The Beast.
