King Pause, I'd watch the films first, as the documentary will assumedly be chock full of spoilers. I'd suggest watching 1, 4, and 6 first (in sequential order), and then perhaps move on to the doc, with the rest of the sequels to follow.

It's amazing that an independent production like this was made in the first place, it's doubtful even if they sell out of every copy they produce they likely will end up breaking even on costs, especially when you consider all the countless man hours this took.

For the same retail price, and $13 shipping (yes, a bit high if you are used o Amazon, but for an independent store like this is certainly not out of the ordinary), getting the 4th bonus disc, and on top of it all getting the thing autographed by everyone at an exclusive signing event that the majority of us would have no way to get otherwise.

If you just don't care, that's fine - but I can't see any universe where that isn't a good deal. 11 hours of main content (I count the extra four hours of interviews as main content - it certainly was the most interesting part of the already very-interesting Never Sleep Again), an autographed copy on DVD and Blu by 25-30 crew and/or cast (I'm sure most very minor, but still very cool), and priority mail shipping.

It's a pretty incredible opportunity, IMO. Figuring that the regular website charges shipping, it's doubtful anyone is really paying $4-5 more for the autographs. Sounds good to me.
100+

Its an amazing deal.

Welp... add me to the number of people who also ordered a copy from Dark Delicacies.

Sure the shipping is a bit high, but for 25-30 signatures at no extra charge? More than makes up for it.

I did ask in the box on my order how they plan to handle that many signatures. So maybe Sue will respond.

That's why they have to be signing something else. Adrienne King ALONE usually fills that amount of space. She signed so big on my poster she nearly signed right over my Kevin Bacon autograph!!!! And you know she will be there.

Do DD usually ship straight away after a signing event?.
YES! Last thing I ordered was an 8x10 for this BOWLING FOR BOOBIES charity, which is a bowling team loaded with horror actresses to raise money for a good cause.
I know a few of the girls couldn't attend, so it was either sent or you could let them keep it for a convention a month later. They got the rest there, no extra charge.
For some reason Kristina Klebe never signed it, but I'll just get her at a convention someday. Gotta think she'd sign it for free too.

But I got it the Wednesday after that weekend.

This doc would be a blind buy for me(I'd have to decide before midnite, though), would it be worth it for a 1st. time watcher IYO? I think the deal w/auto. is great!
It's seven hours of goodness, so I gotta think it's worth it.

I think while the first HALLOWEEN is more slowburn, the sequels started being more slasher films for sure. So if you liked the sequels, you love Friday The 13th.

The first 4 films are a must. Part 5 continues with the Tommy Jarvis story and into part 6. 7-8 are lesser films, but still fun in the original series aspect. Hell and X are pretty stupid, and VS is more just the Jason character.

I think seeing the original 8 films is all you need.

I do agree this doc will be loaded with spoilers, but it's not like besides ONE twist in ONE film, these movies are pretty spoiler free. It's a guy killing kids in the woods. Not much to spoil.

the first film has two spoilers, one plot related and one shock related.

the first 4 F13s fit together nicely like the first 2 Halloweens.
Friday 5 is sort of the Halloween 3 of the series....

Can't worry about money if you're worried about being a fan and quality. 13 for shipping and autographs is a steal. Anyone who balks at that, maybe this isn't the documentary for them.

I am sure it was answered here but I emailed DD about the movie and asked if it had a bonus disc and when the signing was. The signing is taking place in their store August 24th and the movie WILL have the bonus disc.

So is http://crystallakememories.net the place to pre-order? and you pre-order on the 7th?

Why are people in this thread saying they pre-ordered already and paid 13 for shipping?

where are people getting the price if the pre-order listing isn't up yet? kind of confused here.

and is this only going to be available on the website? i'm not interested in the signatures, so if there's another place to get it cheaper, that'll be great.

The preorders we have in are from Dark Delicacies and that's the autographed copy. In July you can preorder from CLM.net

Honestly, I would imagine about the same price as it's a niche movie and not a widespread high interest. It's best to order from DD because you for sure get the bonus disc AND 25 or so signatures for that price plus the 13 shipping. Worth it, in my eyes.

Just ordered a copy. Autographs are cool

Out of the 3 big 80's long-running horror franchises, Elm Street, Halloween & Friday the 13th, the latter has been my personal favorite as I have enjoyed each installment quite a bit plus I'm more of a (backwoods) slasher fanatic, which is the category this series falls into best. The Halloween sequels are too uneven and Freddy Kruger went from a scary serial killer to a wisecracking clown with each subsequent installment. This release will complement Warner's box set very well.

Tis true, but part five does have Tommy Jarvis in it, who is probably the most classic Jason foe. So while not a total side sequel like Halloween 3 was, I do see your point.

I'd be curious to know how many copies total they pre-sold - I was told 50 yesterday, but I'm sure they've sold many more since.
