It's like the way James Cameron was one of my favorite directors, but we have gotten nothing but Avatar from him in OVER 20 YEARS now, with apparently nothing but Avatar from him coming for the next 10. Wasting decades of a great director's career.
Actually, Mindhunter is damn good, and Fincher directed four of the 10 episodes (the first 2 and the last 2 of the first season). I wouldn't consider his involvement in that series a waste in the least.

I tried watching it, lasted about 3-4 episodes before I decided I was just bored and uninterested.

Mindhunter is easily Netflix's best show and the best thing since True Detective's first season.

I didn't care for Gone Girl myself but Zodiac surpasses even Fight Club for me, I loved Social Network and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is one of his best. Benjamin Button was a bit meh to me considering his other films but still very well made and distinct in his filmography. While I do wish he made more films he isn't as bad as Cameron has gotten as he is still growing as a filmmaker and maturing (while using TV work to focus on his craft) rather than sitting on his hands believing the technology must evolve to catch up with his vision before the world deserves his next movie.

oh yeah, Cameron was just the extreme example. Fincher is nowhere near that bad, I just wish it didn't take so long to get another movie from him.

I agree, I wish there was more, I still morn the finished Millenium trilogy of his we never got. I get the feeling if he wasn't so focused on trying to get this sequel off the ground, we could get a Fincher movie between his tv projects, like a (just as an example) Girl in the Spider's Web movie between seasons of Mindhunter.

World War Z 2 is still happening, apparently—with David Fincher attached to direct.

I was just asking my buddy the other day what, if anything, was going on with this. But like imsounoriginal said, I'll believe it when we see set photos or any actual sign of physical production really

As long as it doesn't take Fincher away from Mindhunter... whatever.

Well considering production is seemingly pencilled in for July next year, I doubt you’ll be seeing it until 2020 if all goes to plan.

They said in the article its not shooting this year so Fincher can handle the second season of Mindhunter instead (which they'll be shooting through December). Then he'll have until June of next year to prep for shooting this.

I know... I guess I meant a hypothetical season 3 of Mindhunter.

I ain’t wanting to be the bearer of bad news, but I wouldn’t hold your breath on this ever coming to light.

If it’s any consolation though, there’s always some rad new zombie film coming out every year under the radar.
