All the one's I've seen have German text on the cover.

edit: On ebay there is a "Strange Days：The Movie (1995) Blu-ray New Box Set All Region" which lists lanugages as "Chinese, English, French, Thai" is this an actual asian region release or a knock off?

That's a BD R, don't support these scum, they're making money from nothing.

I used to love this movie and only have the old R1 DVD, so I just ordered the German 20th. Ann.
I used to listen to the music with the screen off. I remember being very impressed with the sound design and especially the recording of the live concerts.
The openig would be peefect to an Atmos remix imo. Maybe as part of a cinema rerelease.
The whole POV perspective was way ahead of its time.

Don't worry. I'm sure when Jimbo gets round to releasing this it'll have Atmos and no OG audio as per the other Fox releases.

It's a Lightstorm film, from his company.

Presumably he has some sort of contract with 20th Century Fox that's still in effect that gave him approval over any home video editions of any films from his company, regardless of whether he directed them.

Here's an article about how Lightstorm's deal at Fox worked at the time the movie was shot, in 1994:

It had numerous distribution/financing partners all over the world. That's how Strange Days slipped out on BD in other non-Fox territories.

In December 1995, just two months after Strange Days was released, Fox took over as sole financier for Lightstorm, in exchange for worldwide rights to their future films:

Different production companies though as Point Break was Largo with Fox as the distributor.

Strange Days and the other Lightstorm titles are produced by Lightstorm but it seems now those making disc are Disney (Fox).

I see Disney seem to have got global rights back for True Lies as this was only Fox in US and it was Universal in UK and much and Europe but the UK UHD is coming from Disney (Fox) same as US.

Strange Days was Fox in US, Universal in UK and other companies around the world. Don't know if Disney (Fox) now have global rights back.

The film was streaming on Cinemax (free trial via Prime Video), and they had the aspect ratio opened up to 1.78:1. The bitrate left something to be desired, but it was the first time I didn't have to exclusively watch the film on Laserdisc or the poorly compressed DVD. The audio track still sounded great, especially that opening sequence with its hyper-directional audio! Still such an excellent film, and a friend of mine on Twitter watched it for the first time on New Year's Eve. He LOVED it! I was so happy! I love this film!

I’ve never seen this movie aside from catching some of it on tv out of context eons ago, so it should be interesting seeing it on 35mm almost completely cold.

For anyone in the DC area, or who wants to make the trip, the Library of Congress is showing it for free, first come first serve.

Can anyone confirm the 2015 German Koch Media Blu (the one with the DVD) runs on a Panny with the remote trick? I noticed Amazon has it for $19 shipped seems like a good time to bite since this is a Lightstorm film and we all know how that goes now...
