Benioff directed one episode in season 3 of Game of Thrones and Weiss directed one episode in season 4. They're both credited with writing the vast majority of episodes.

I am just guessing they will write and produce the new Star Wars trilogy, but someone else will direct.

They're also directing the series finale of Game of Thrones together. Although they did say this was more due to trying to stop spoilers leaking by controlling who was on set (only trusted crew members with special badges were allowed on set) and shooting multiple endings etc.

But I definitely think someone else will direct this film, with B&W taking a more overarching creative position on Star Wars as a whole.

Actually wouldn't mind a Star Wars dinosaur movie. There's gotta be a planet in that galaxy where dinos are still the dominant species, grew smart, etc. We've had tiny Force wielders like Yoda, how about Darth T. Rex?

Why? You guys are failing to get the idea that once the Skywalker saga ends then many of us no longer care what Rian and his posse do with the films. It doesn’t matter anymore at this point and I’m glad that the Skywalker storyline is ending. Good. Let it rest. Enough. It’s over.

They can do whatever it is Disney tells them to do. They have free reign per se. The beauty of it is that it can’t in any way cause a meltdown. These new, unrelated movies don’t matter and if the die hards don’t care then they simply won’t go see them. If they end up good, then fine, watch and enjoy.

Nothing to meltdown about, sorry to say.
