Worms and Splinter are down to $36.68 on Amazon now. Bridge is still at full price for some reason.

Amazon is just price matching Barnes and Noble, who doesn't have the bridge cover listed on their site.

The splinter in the eye is even in the movie trailer.

I agree that it’s not really a spoiler. 👍🏽

I just watched this for the first time ever last night. I had seen a few minutes on Prime in the past, and all this talk made me remember I had bought the current 2-disc which was still shrink-wrapped.

I'll admit, I was distracted and working on other stuff while I played the movie. The good parts of course got my attention. But the splinter spoiler, as soon as I knew it was coming, I made sure to pay attention And HUGE props to the underwater zombie who obviously had to hold his breath to not ruin the zombie effect. Only a few bubbles escaped when he "bit" the shark.

But I watched it to see if I want to upgrade for this upcoming release, and my feeling is that I will wait. What I watched looked pretty darn good, so I'll either wait for a sale or the eventual 4k UHD. I don't begrudge anyone who wants to double-dip, I just prefer using the money to scoop up more films I don't own any versions of yet.

But I don't feel "spoiled" about the splinter, and had bought it based on hearing about the shark scene, so I'm overall happy to have a copy in my collection. The characters were pretty bland as far as zombie films go, and the most painful part was seeing the bearded guy's massively red sunburn when he was in the water.

I don't know about you, but I and almost everyone I know who's seen the movie heard about the eye scene before we saw it and it had nothing to do with blu-ray covers and it ruined nothing. With a geek show movie like this, knowing that upfront increases its appeal!

Nothing spoils movies more than their trailers so anyone who is spoiler sensitive shouldn't watch any. May as well stay completely off the internet as well. Spoilers wherever you turn on the 'net.

I wouldn't say it spoils it. Like another poster said; VHS covers did this all the time in the 80s. Your curiosity would peak about the scene and you'd rent it. And it works too (guilty).

If I've not watched it, a spoiler is a spoiler. I've said this before on other threads where people don't use Spoiler tags, and they turn around and say, "the movie is from 1943, how is that a spoiler? Idiots. well it is a 39 year old movie so making it spoiler proof at this point seems kinda silly. using something in the film that draws in the fans seems ok to me. it's a zombie movie, people die gruesome deaths. this is an expectation at this point. i'm surprised that there wasn't a zombie vs shark cover for this. again one of the selling points for the movie even all these years later. in this day and age i kinda doubt you can expect few or no spoilers realistically. they are all over the place often before a film is released at this point. probably not a realistic expectation for there to be no spoilers for a 39 year old movie. besides the cover hints at something at most but hardly spoils the scene. if nothing else i would assume newbies would be waiting for this scene to see why it made the cover. (unlike many covers that imply something great this lives up to and then some)

The movie itself is a spoiler for the splinter scene. The entire running time of Zombie is basically that eye moving towards the splinter, reminds me of

I saw Zombie for the first time only just a few weeks ago. The "eye" image I was seeing in books and magazines nearly twenty years ago when I was first getting into the genre. Did nothing to ruin the experience for me. In the moment, it was still a tense scene that made me cringe. Loved the movie and can't wait to see this new Blu-ray.

So, for those in the DC area, looks like the new 4K restoration will play at the AFI Silver in Silver Spring next month... Well that's one way to see it in true 4K

Is the Bridge cover a DiabolikDVD Exclusive?

According to Blu-ray’s page for the Bridge version, it lists it as an exclusive, but it’s available for preorder on Amazon? Maybe that’s why it is listed for a higher price on Amazon?

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Zombie-Blu-ray/210265/

And this will be a blind buy for me, but after reading all of the comments and about the film, I’m excited to watch it.

And trying to decide between Bridge and Splinter.

Splinter cover down to $33.03 on Amazon. Went ahead and pre-ordered all three so I can cancel the two highest just before release date.

Zombie is a “spoiler proof” movie, so there are no worries anyway. It's one of those films where reading an exhaustive synopsis right before walking into the theater would probably not diminish one's experience in the slightest.

People are turning into zombies, these zombies eat flesh, and the whole world is screwed. Even sharks, which are the superior species on the planet, are screwed. The end.

The bridge version is the best, I feel. The other two are a little too... direct. Perhaps that's the point, but I do feel it cheapens them. Plus I just think the bridge version is better designed.

The bridge isn't a Diabolik exclusive. Somebody made an error when they added it to the database

Hello. The lenticular slipcovers are limited to first pressing only. We don't have the final quantities of the pressing yet, but we generally do not reveal those figures. ZOMBIE will be available to pre-order at Amazon and other retailers soon. It's up to the individual retailers if they want to offer one or all of the different covers for sale.

I always hated that logic (it's an old movie so spoilers don't matter). What's the age of the film got to do with it? Do we all see the same films? Then it doesn't matter that you've seen it 50 times. Many haven't and are just seeing it for the first time. I see old films all the time that I've never seen before.

A recent comment in the Looker thread as an example:

"Every know and then my film knowledge is put in check. Today I learned of this movies existence and I am very intrigued. I will check this out for sure."

I would have been tempted to buy it at that price, even though I dislike that cover. I wasn't aware it hit that low. The bridge cover is now $50 on Amazon. I just can't do it. Way too much spending.
