My Amazon order has been updated saying I won't get my copy until November - December. What the hell... Amazon is really garbage these days...

They really are. I normally would not believe that date, but I just had a similar thing happen with a book that had an obvious price error. Given that I see I have this on order for $13.79, I'm pretty skeptical that that isn't the reason why it has such an insane estimated delivery. Really - Amazon can't get a new movie release now?

The book I ordered with a price mistake just kept getting pushed back. It did get released and come out elsewhere, but Amazon would never ship it (even though there is a customer review from a verified purchase). Even 2 months after the book was released, I'd still be getting updated delivery date estimates far off in the future.

This morning the status said it was arriving by 8PM today. Now it's November-December. Sure.

With Best Buy I get my preorders a day before street date. With Amazon many of them get delayed or even canceled.

I just got the same notice. If I wanted it around Christmas time I would have ordered it around Christmas time. Cancelled my order with Amazon. Too many other 4K titles I really want to buy. I can live without a 4K Doctor Who in my collection. I already have this in 1080p anyway. When I do finally order it again, it won't be from Amazon.

I can't be too mad at Amazon since I got my other 6 (!) orders today on time. It is weird they're claiming November though (I got the same email). I leave for vacay tomorrow, so I'll wait and see. If it doesn't ship by the time I get back next week maybe I'll check Wally World.

The problem is that Amazon just doesn't want to honor deals anymore. Why lower the price when they don't intend to honor it? Greed, they want to prevent you from ordering elsewhere even if they don't intend to actually honor their deals. I bet the Amazon copies won't have the slipcovers either (other retailers all do).

Yeah, found a copy at Best Buy, so went ahead and picked it up with the 4K Solo steelbook that I had pre-ordered for store pickup. Funny though, it had a sticker for the Flintstones on the slipcase - luckily, it came right off without issue.

I'm sure they'll honor the deal if you wait for the November/December shipping, it's just annoying to have to deal with that.

So this doesn't come with a regular Blu-ray disc, right? I had just assumed it did when I ordered it. Since I don't have 4K, I should probably just cancel my Amazon order and get the regular BD unless there's something that would make having the 4K version worthwhile in addition.

I have it in hand. Confirmed 4K only. Not even a digital copy to make up for that.

What is the special features situation like on the 4K release? Does it have the "End of an Era" special?
