I so wish the next gen upgrade patch was available on day one for this. I have to admit, it takes JUST a little bit of the shine off the excitement for this for me.

It'll hopefully load super fast on PS5 compared to PS4. That's a plus. The higher resolution another plus along with frame rate.

I won't expect raytracing in this PS4 version until the PS5 upgrade. What else can they honestly do with the graphics though other than lighting effects? The game already looks awesome.

Other minor things could be greater draw distance, zero pop in of objects, better visual effects.

But as far as the art, it's as good as it's going to get IMO on PS4 and PS5. I'll be shocked if the remaster for PS5 is going to look much better at a glance.

Not gonna lie bud. I'm a little surprised at you not wanting to give this version of Cyberpunk 2077 a chance when it's the very best you'll get until they get a chance to fully overhaul it for next gen consoles which they're gonna give you for free. It's a huge game to miss out on imo and probably still one of the best. I thought they will be doing a small PS5 patch to optimise a few things but the full fat release comes later. You said you would be playing Ghost of Tsushima and as far as i'm aware that won't have any additional PS5 optimisation as far as currently we're aware so you might as well enjoy this as a crossgen release if not for the huge load savings and multiple playthrough potential too.

Yes, the 3 different story lines increases the replay value at least for the first half of the stories. Eventually it'll probably just blend together by time your character is all powered up, though there might be some subtle differences in story towards the end, but each character will be treated probably evenly by the story by the midway point I'm guessing, having played other games that let you be different types of characters with different stories.

Bottomline is you have to probably face the same enemies and bosses in the game. How pedestrians react to you will probably vary a bit though.

Probably going to be multiple endings as well based off your decisions in the game. CDPR did that in The Witcher 3.

Good point.
I lucked out with the good ending in Witcher 3, but never went back to experience the alternate endings.

I bet different armors will change the look of the character.

I wonder if there are shops to buy different outfits for the character. Hopping on the motorcycles might be the best way to view your characters since it's first person view only FPV.
Other than mirrors, yeah it looks like motorcycles will give you the best look at your character.

Other possibilities to see your character.

A photo mode would be cool.
Another is through idle animation similar to Fallout 4.

To be fair, it might be worth waiting for the PS5 version due to all the updates that will inevitably come out i.e. QoL improvements etc. They made so many changes to The Witcher 3 over the course of that game.

Personally loved Witcher 3 from launch and never felt i missed out on anything they updated at all and i'm sure as long as the content here matches the perceived quality shown thus far, launch buyers won't be disappointed. However if money is of concern and next gen purchases are selective. Can't get better potential value imo than a PS4 version at the lower pricing to next gen and then a FREE upgrade (as things stand) to next gen when that version launches. Just bear in mind, the next gen will largely be an overhauled game and also have to get patched with QoL changes as they face different issues.

As of right now I'll still be playing Cyberpunk on my PS4 because I haven't been able to snag a PS5 preorder yet. Reading everyone's comments about waiting to play till it gets a PS5 update is kinda funny. Many of us have had this preordered since it was first available and fully intended on playing it on the PS4 in April 2020, the original release date.

I'm just hoping that we will be able to transfer saves from PS4 to the PS5 for those of us that can't get a PS5 on launch day. I'd hate to complete one of the story lines then have to completly replay it on the PS5 because you can't transfer saves.

Oh I wasn't bashing The Witcher. I bought day one and saw all the updates/improvements that were made. Some of them were very significant which I'd have liked at the very beginning.

It stinks that not all of the forum members didn't get a PS5 pre order yet.

For the PS4 version, I can't imagine they're going to re-model the characters, buildings and objects just for the PS5 upgrade. No way are they going to redo everything IMO, as it already looks great on PS4. So I'm not expecting a night/day difference with the remastered PS5 upgrade.

Now if it was a PS3 game going to PS5, that would be a remake hopefully vs a remaster. They should remaster Fallout 3, but now that MS owns Bethesda, it's not looking hopeful for PS5. Fallout 3 gave gamers a choice of first person or 3rd person. I played most of it 3rd person, but when free shooting, first person in corridors was easier to be honest.

A photo mode would be welcome, yes. Here's hoping.
I can imagine mirrors in video games will finally look great with raytracing.

The motorcycle, I'll ride close to a building, and then the camera will hopefully bump closer to the character to get a better view. I'll try to keep the character on the bike most of the game if possible when exploring the city, going through buildings too if necessary for the 3rd person point of view. Half kidding about that. But I bet first person will be interesting even though as with Far Cry 5 even though I prefer 3rd person games.

Yes, when not touching the controller for a minute, maybe the camera will automatically rotate around your character, as with Fallout and GTAV.

The pause menu also.

Well honestly even if the next gen patch WAS available day one, I probably wouldn't get it still because I KNOW how massive and involved this game is going to be. I dont want to commit to a game like this right out of the gate because I want to play Demons Souls, I want to play Spiderman, i want to play Astrobot, I want to play Sackboy, and I want to play Ghost of Tsushima first. If I commit to playing this right off the bat, I won't have time for anything else! I'd rather wait until the true next gen version is available to experience it. I'm definitely not going to miss out on it. I'm just going to wait.

Looking on the bright side, since this, Demon’s Souls and Yakuza are releasing within a week, waiting for the ps5 versions will space these big games out

Fair enough. If i had or do decide last minute to buy the PS5 and keep then i'd probably be in the same boat of working through a backlog of PS4 games but thankfully experiencing them in a PS4 Pro optimised state and 4K before probably dumping into PS5 only releases. As always, a lot of cross gen stuff but once done i'd love to play the Cyberpunk 2077 at least once fully.

Right now in general with gaming, i feel like i just flit between so many damn MP titles even F2P that i kinda don't manage to find enough time between trying to complete Battle Passes and challenges before weekly resets. I know that's a me problem but it's also the compulsive completionist trying to juggle it all. Unfortunately i need to find a time to clean break soon and i think it's going to happen moreso with some real life commitments tbh and that's kinda good.

If you are at all interested in the game I don’t see why you would want to skip its launch. It’s only been 8 years since development began.

I guess some don’t mind waiting longer than 8 years for a new game to release.

I don't think any of the reasons given so far would be mine, but if I was only getting the PS5, I would potentially have to wait on this game if I wasn't able to get a PS5 at launch. We still have yet to get confirmation that this will be able to do cross saves, and if somebody is like me that doesn't have time to play a probably pretty lengthy game like this again before the DLC would drop, then that would make waiting on this game for a while a necessity.

Would be nice to get confirmation on this one way or the other like some other companies have said already.
