If you are genuinely interested in the answer to your question and mine then watch a couple minutes of this video starting at 5 mins and 38 seconds. I've posted it before, but this directly answers your question. Listen to what she says happened after Disney purchased those properties.

BTW GotG3 was effectively a solo project and NWH is a Sony project. Neither are commonly seen as being part of Phases 4 and 5 and neither movie was marketed that way.

Wonder Woman has always been my favorite Superhero, male or female since I was a kid. Hers was the first comic I ever started collecting. It's why it took me a minute to get used to the first DC movie which is now one of my favorites. So it's a shame that the second one was trash.

I watched the Peggy Carter series and would have loved there to be a season 2*. Did you even know that show existed? Everyone likes these characters. But what's any of that got to do with hiring writers and producers who not only know nothing about the core product, but actively dislike the core audience? Even Grace Randolph of all people has realized this.

My theory is that if a company alienates its core audience in the name of getting a new one and that new audience fails to show up then they are screwed. How do you think Disney have been doing recently?

Two things that have affected Marvel films since endgame is the 1-2 punch of Covid and Disney+.

Covid closed lots of cinemas down and changed peoples viewing habits which still is affecting things now.

Disney+ has taught people If you wait 1 to 3 months you can watch the film at home rather than pay a lot of money to see it at the cinema. The desire to get people to keep subscribing comes at the cost of the box office. Look how successful Haunted Mansion was when it came on D+. A film released in the cinema so they could put it on for Halloween, which flopped at the box office.

Disney makes lots of mistakes these days.

Blocking account sharing on Disney+ in 2024 while rising the price is one of these. These evil evil people who share the subscription costs. Disney would probably prefer that they soon share an all you can eat download service account... Disney wake up, you are NOT Netflix... Guess most new Disney stuff is even not successful in the illegal download charts...

I'm out of the Disney+ game in 2024 as an home media maniac. So i'm pretty sure most average users will give a f.on this streaming service in the future.

From purely a business perspective D+ might be their biggest mistake. Yes D+ is the clear number 2 streaming service after Netflix. But they are only no.2 by default because the other streaming services are so far behind. This would be less of an issue if they hadn't pulled all their content off other streaming services. This only works if lots of people subscribe, which they haven't (Trust issues being a major reason). Meanwhile Sony makes a movie, it bombs, then they sell it on to various streaming services and make a little of the money back. Disney content being exclusive to D+ means they make no extra money.

That's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. Still won't work though because it doesn't answer my question. The Avengers was essentially lightning in a bottle requiring lots of things to go right. Right now Disney is a company where everything is going wrong. Also recent movies have shown that they no longer have the talent in house to produce any successful movie, never mind an Avengers movie.

But who could be the new Avengers?
They should have been the characters from Phase 4 and 5. But She-Hulk is hated by the core audience, Shang-chi has only been seen once and the Young Avengers like the Marvels are DOA. That leaves; Ant-man & Wasp whose movie bombed. Dr Strange, no longer Sorcerer Supreme and Wong. Spider-man owned by Sony, Thor who is a meme, Hulk who is no longer Hulk, and Sam Wilson's Captain America who like it or not, has not been accepted.

But who is our RDJ or even Chris Evans? If the Avengers included Yelena and Red Guardian then David Harbor, Florence Pugh and Benedict Cumberbatch could fill in I suppose? But personally I think too much damage has been done.

Just wait until the thread title gets updated as usual (assuming that there is a Japanese 3-D release of course).

the hyperbole is staggering. D+ has been around for 4 years and has 150 million subscribers already. Netflix streaming has been around for 16 years and has 240 million.

Again are you deliberately missing the point or just missing the point? The point is that they don't have enough subscribers to make the model work. Also:

The thread title will be updated one way or the other, once home releases are confirmed it will either say "3D Blu-ray" or "No 3D Blu-ray".

But we already know Disney won't release the expanded aspect ratio version on disc, and the chances of a 3D Blu-ray anywhere other than Japan are pretty much zero.

Don’t forget our Japanese Twitter/X poster who always makes the announcement at least a week ahead of the preorder going live….could be any minute now!

Really looking forward to watching the movie again, and for the first time in 3D as we didn't have any theatres here showing it in 3D. Come on amazon japan, give us this one soon...

Every week that passes with no announcement makes it less likely there will be one. Shoot.

Not really. Until they announce their 4K and it doesn't have 3D, it doesn't matter how much time passes.

US or Europe hasn't even announced this movie for release yet. Japan release always comes after its announced in US.
