I picked up the arcane warrior specialization it lets mages use there magic stat in lieu of strength to meet strength requirements. By that as far as the game is concerned my mage has 49 strength for purposes of equiping armor and items. Very cool as that is a skill or talent always on. My coffee is roasted fresh by me every third day, ground minutes before brewing with 200F water in a French press. I am unable to enjoy coffee away from home anymore. I prefer dry process coffees from Indonesia and Africa. To remain on topic, the feeling I am having now, as I wait for my CE copy of Dragon Age to arrive is the same as I had in early October while I waited for my copy of UC2:AT to arrive. BUT, then I had the pleasure of replaying UC ![]() |

I must admit im come to prefer Komodo Dragon Blend coffee, Asia/Pacific I dunno, I kinda like the herbal taste it offers, but im also a big herbal tea fan. (Celestial Seasons)
But stay away from the fbo coffee even those who say they drink only black coffee place lots of sugar and crreme that is just to make it drinkable.. nasty stuff. I stay away from maintenance coffee it usually reminisces of armpit.. I dont know what the **** they do to the coffee but its nasty perhaps worse then the dalfort coffee. (Shudders) How did I get distracted... I can understand your unique problem, have to say maybe you should see if there is local best buy with a collectors edition.. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstempl...&pagetype=page This is find bestbuys near me with dragon age collectors edition for ps3.. it should say if they have it and phone numbers to call... Kinda convenient. Cheers and best of luck. Quote:

BUT, I am in luck! Just for grins, I called the store in Duluth, and they had one, just one, in stock. I paid for it on the phone, and my wife will pick it up for me later today. I will not cancel my Amazon order, however, until I have it in hand. Last edited by jsteinhauer; 11-14-2009 at 04:01 PM. Reason: Bonus Information |

IN HAND!
Need one bit of advice. What difficulty should I select? In PS3 shooters these days, I'm somewhere in the normal/medium to crushing/impossible range, depending on the game. I want to have fun, but I don't want it to be lame, yet I don't want to be continually frustrated. |

Actually, I was just checking out the trophies, and it looks like it doesn't matter what difficulty you play to get platinum. I'll probably just start on hard. Like I said, I don't want to be frustrated. Last edited by jsteinhauer; 11-14-2009 at 11:15 PM. |

That is always a dilemma. I played Uncharted 2 on normal the first time through, then needed to play hard to unlock crushing, so I could win a Platinum. Normal was pretty easy. But DA:O, it seems, can be played through on the most difficult setting the first time.

I was on hard till I started running into later boss fights. Later boss fights either require really specific builds, drop luck, lots of backtracking, or just plain luck. As a result, I'm now playing on normal. If you try above Normal on your first run through without reading FAQs, prepare to be incredibly frustrated, because there are fights that tactics alone will never win.

Level 3 at this point. NFL games got in the way today. It sure is a change from how I'm used to playing games of late. No dexterity/reflexes required. Just set the tone and let it go. First few fights were luckily very easy, since I was buttong mashing out of ignorance. At least I know better than that by now. I'm still not sure I've got a good grasp on the controls, and the menu system is a bit cumbersome, but that will improve. For instance, I've encountered a locked chest with my Dwarf Warrior that I don't apparently have skills to open. At this point, I'm not yet confident that I have tried every angle available.
The environments are not rendered as nicely as I think they could be, and that's slightly disappointing, but not every game can be one of the best in its generation, and the story is developing nicely. That is enough to keep the interest. Games like this are like reading fantasy fiction. Looking at the trophies, a platinum could take a very, very long time. |

In your experience, then, there will be chests, doors you can't open at all, unless you're a rogue? There is no key here so far. I have just accepted an invitation into the Grey Wardens, and I am newly on the surface as a recruit simply wandering around. I don't want to waste time looking for things I won't find. |

YOU don't have to be a rogue to open chest, you can just have a rogue in your party. Even then if she's not skilled enough she won't be able to open all the chest that you encounter. The more important question is, is having a rogue in your party to open chest more important than having a Mage to heal you're party during battles or a Warrior as a tank or a DSPer? I couldn't have a rogue fit in my squad as I thought the other characters were more useful. |
