So I sent my Yamaha receiver out for service a couple weeks back and I unplugged all my gear including my BIC PL-200. I was hooking everything back into my APC H15 today and noticed no light on the sub. I was like weird. So I popped the fuse and it was clearly blown. I called BIC to inquire if I needed a special fuse and I was told a blown fuse is an indication of a bigger issue with the amp itself. He said the fuse prevents a fire and that I needed to send it in for a warranty repair. Did I do something wrong that caused the sub to blow? I've unplugged it many times before with out issue, what gives???

I have had one BIC F-12 for about a year now and love it. Now, I would like to try out dual subs. I was about to order a second F-12, but wonder if anyone has tried a V1220 paired with an F-12. I have a 7.1 system powered by a Denon 2310 with BIC DV62CLRs for mains & center speakers and four DV62si for surrounds & backs. Listening area is a "great room" with vaulted ceiling and is about 12 x 25 but also opens up into kitchen and hallway.

Well I just replaced the lamp on my Mitsubishi rear projection last night, only to discover that my MartinLogan sub woudn't pwer on! Changed the fuse and it still didn't work, so I went ahead and ordered the PL-200. Offered $300 on eBay and they accepted, but I wish I would have started lower after realizing that these have sold as low as $260. Ohh well, I am excited, hope it gets here soon!

Ok, I think I will just go with another F-12 after all. My current F-12 sits "caddy-corner" off to one side of mains in corner of room. There is a fireplace on the other side of mains, instead of a corner, so I will either have to stack new F-12 on of existing one or place subs on either side of center speaker between it and the mains.

OK so I've had the BIC F-12 sub for a few weeks and I was running it in my bedroom and it sounded great. Now I hooked it up in my living room with my Klipsch Icon XW-500 10" sub and AHHHHHHHHHHHH they sound amazing together

I have two F-12's im my home theater to smooth out the bass response in the room.
Watched The Lost World: Jurassic Park the other night and it felt like I had tactile transducers attached to my recliner (and I don't). Awesome! |

Hi-
I am a college student who uses a BIC F12 to play music for parties. I know painfully little about audio; the F12 was actually something I found out about using a forum. With the F12, I'm using Bose 201V bookshelf speakers (L & R) and an Onkyo A/V Receiver. Here's my issue: First of all, I lost the F12's usual manual, so I'm not sure if my problem has to do with incorrect settings or something else. The problem: when turned to auto, the power switch yields a red light. Sometimes it will randomly change to green, but I'm still concerned. Possible cause: my dumbass housemate, while the 201V's were out for repair, hooked up other bookshelf speakers via the out to speaker portals on the F12 (instead of the receiver), and blasted music for probably 8-10 hours. So, my basic question is, what settings should I use, and what can I do to fix this? I really appreciate it. |

According to BIC, they design and engineer all their amps in the US, but the manufacturing is in China.

I solved it by manually flipping the switch to the "green on" position. Just forget about putting it in the "auto" position. |

It's not really a problem. Red simply means that the sub is in standby mode and green means that it is receiving a signal.
