I better take my copy back to Best Buy and return it. The internets says it's bad then IT'S BAD.

So far I've watched JP and TLW and I've been quite satisfied with how both looked. Not to mention the dts:x track is glorious.

What is the rationale? We are here to learn from one another. There's a zero percent chance that sharing views on image quality will be meaningful without others knowing about the display. It would be like discussing the nuances of getting around a particular sports car course without knowing the car and tire pressure, etc.

I'd say JP3 has the least luck of ever getting a proper master because many regard it as a trash sequel. I love it and feel it is unfairly maligned. Everyone is claiming JW 4K to be the best of the bunch. From the screens, it appears they are correct in saying so. It has a colder colour timing (not pinkish as JP1 and JP3) but that was present theatrically as well. So, I'm not complaining. Look at Geoff's review of JP2 and JP3. He says it better! What he means is that the framing has been zoomed in/tightened on all four sides. Actually, the theatrical framing was also tight at the sides. But, in the cinema, the masking revealed more image of the top of the frame than the bottom. No dinosaur heads were cropped as a result. In the DVD and Blu-ray, the framing has been pushed down a bit, making the headroom tighter and giving more legroom than the theatrical. Last edited by Riddhi2011; 05-24-2018 at 05:47 PM. |

In this guy's case, what if the grayscale is off along with color accuracy and saturation!? Everything will look better instantly if calibrated. Not just one movie. An entire collection! |

Hopefully it will be given a theatrical re-release for the 30th anniversary and if Spielberg gets involved in that process then perhaps that may lead to a new UHD disc as well? |

I've watched all of them, and JW definitely looks the best. Healthy grain presence, great uptick in detail and textures, and very cool color grading. Truly though, the DTS:X tracks are worth the price of admission on their own.
