Bruce was able to travel around the world living among the criminal underworld for 7 years when he ran away from Gotham in Begins. Therefore he clearly has the knowledge and capability to survive without his fortunes.
Also food shipments were allowed in, that's how the Special Forces team managed to get into the city so who's to say Bruce didn't get in the same way?

They gambled with Ledger's accent in the Dark Knight and it payed off, but sadly lightning didn't strike twice.
I agree, it sounded completely disembodied from what's on screen. Awful.

Also related to the stock exchange, Lucius mentions the fact that long term they will be able to prove fraud but for the time being he is broke.
There aren't too many obvious plot holes if you actually pay attention to the movie and think about it, this is no Prometheus.

They didn't ADR Bane's voice. There was a microphone in the mask Hardy wore at all times. They just (considerably) boosted the levels from that mic.

Worked for me too. His dialogue in the original scene was unintelligible at certain points. Not good. I don't have a problem with the change. The scene now works much better.

well, even if it's "just" 50 minutes it's far more than Transformers II... then...

is there a review which details which scenes of Batman Rises are in iMAX...? (is the "final battle" almost entirely in iMAX ?)
My Transformers 2 Blu-ray doesn't ever go full-screen.

It's a crap movie, so maybe I don't remember. Which scenes is it, so I can check it out? Or is there a version that doesn't do this?

After the review, I'm looking forward to the eye-candy in TDKR blu!

Bruce getting back to gotham that isnt a plot hole. A plot hole is when the films logic breaks down to such a degree that the film can not continue. Not explaining something like bruce getting back isnt a plot hole. Bruce got back because he is the godamn batman and as bruce wayne he has world wide resources and connections. Now would you rather have the momentum the film has built in the last act come to a screeching halt to show bruce's journey back to gotham or would you rather the film maintain its momentum and pace. Personally id rather the film not come to a halt to state the obvious for those who cant use their imagination to figure out the obvious. We know bruce will get back to gotham, we know he has world wide contacts and resources through his name and company, and we know he is the batman.

The Big Screen Edition of ROTF has 8-9 min. of IMAX scenes left intact, but it's only available at Wal-Mart. If you didn't get it at Wal-Mart, there's your answer to why you didn't have your screen get filled up...

Thanks, mate!

Wal-Mart doesn't exist in this part of the globe. They wanted to buy out Coles-Myer, but the British company Wesfarmers beat them too it!

Ah! That explains it! Happy to help!

Here's a review of the Big Screen Edition of ROTF, so you can see pics of the IMAX shots:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Trans...-Blu-ray/7747/

Update: It's for sale on Amazon now, not just Wal-Mart anymore. If you want, you could get it imported, but, then again, you said it's a crap movie, so you're more than likely not interested...

TDKR looked great in 70mm IMAX but also in my local 2K digital theater.
Older 16mm films and 35mm films(dating back to the 50s) can look fantastic when given a proper scan.

TDKR still looks great IMO, especially the IMAX shots, but the 35mm photography should also be some of the best Blu-ray footage out there *because* it was done in a traditional photochemical process which should allow better color and more detail. I'm not saying it looks bad, it looks way more faithful and overall better than The Dark Knight's 35mm scenes. It just looks a lot softer and murkier than I expected.

Hopefully it's just the screenshots, and the film in motion will look a lot clearer.
I think we're looking at anamorphic 35mm without the manipulation of a typical modern DI, hence the softer, muddier look compared to stuff like Transformers or Star Trek (I was watching the latter earlier today, it's razor-sharp).

But you only have to view Batman Begins or The Prestige or Inception for evidence that Nolan (and Wally Pfister) dig that smooth, velvety look of anamorphic finished on film, and they want to preserve it at all stages of the chain. Even the video transfer comes from a timed positive element instead of scanning the neg and timing it digitally. (But, ironically enough, the IMAX stuff comes from an 8K scan to begin with, because it's easier to deal with such a large format in the digital domain.)

TDKR is no different, although given the massive discrepancy in detail between the 35mm and 15/70 sections and the failure of the IMAX DMR method to bridge that gap last time out (i.e. lots of EE), perhaps this would've been the right time for Nolan and Pfister to have done a 4K DI on the anamorphic footage. Ah, well. At least there are no freakin' forcefields on TDKR.

It also has an extended forest battle which is awesome. I got my Walmart IMAX Edition from a third party seller on Amazon.

Also, to whoever asked what scenes are in IMAX in TDKR...I don't know exactly but there is A LOT. The movie is constantly going from black bars to full screen and then back. Maybe around half the movie is in IMAX I'm guessing. I do know most of the good stuff is in IMAX.

After the initial reaction to the prologue, they did indeed go back and do a bunch of ADR.

Analog 35mm printed straight from the negative can look fantastically detailed and sharp though (I saw a fancy print of Magnolia some time ago that had an almost 70mm quality to it, miles ahead of any blu-ray i've ever seen). I feel like the scanner optics and the subsequent downscaling/compression to 1080p effectively add the equivalent of a film printing generation or two, so scanning the negative gives you something that looks like a really nice 2nd gen print, and scanning the IP ends up looking more like your run-of-the-mill 4th generation material... which is not ideal IMO.

Some of the dialogue in the prologue was difficult to understand, yes, but I'm speaking more to the tone and feel of Bane's initial voice. It was far darker and sinister, especially compared to the PA-system style voice they reworked that is just over the top.
