Have you ever had a movie spoiled to you? - Page 14 - Blu-ray Forum

This seems appropriate since the 4K of "The Sting" just came out.

Back in the '70s you didn't have nearly as much information about current films all over the place, -there was no internet or you.tube and there were generally one or two clips that would be shown that you'd see on talk shows. The Oscars would do the Best Picture category last and as the nominees were announced , they would show a lengthy clip, usually one that was exclusive to the broadcast. I had not seen "The Sting" in theaters because I was too young to drive. The clip shown on "The Oscars" was the big reveal at the end of the film, spoiling the film if you had not seen it yet.

When I was walking in to the theater from the parking lot to see The Last Jedi, there was a group of late teens standing by the door talking and one said loudly, "and when Luke died...".

Another was while reading on another forum, someone posted a topic with the thread title, "Did Letterman just reveal the twist ending to (name of movie)". And, this was a movie I was going to see later that night.

My lifetime worst was Alien3. Was on the way to the theater right after it opened with some friends, and we stopped at a convenience store for some snacks. The cashier was flirty with one of my friends as we were paying for our stuff, and ask him what we were up to. He replied we were on our way to see Alien3. She immediately made a face and said “I hated it, especially when Sigourney Weaver kills herself.” I was honestly hoping she was joking, but of course she wasn’t.

Also, apologies, but I can’t figure out the spoiler thingy!��

Hours before seeing The Last Jedi someone posted a meme with spoilers but it was done so hilariously that I wasn't even mad. Turned out that was the highlight of seeing TLJ

The one that sticks in my mind is from Tropic Thunder. Not so much the plot that was spoiled but the fact that Tom Cruise was playing Les... I would have picked it up immediately but it took the fun out of it by some jackholes dropping that tidbit, on here I believe even...

The good part was that not many people picked up on who it was even after he was on screen multiple times. I wish I had not known going into it.
