God I hope we get a WW movie in my lifetime. These were produced by an artist.

If they ever do make a "Wonder Woman" film, I really hope they avoid the "centerfold" approach. Sex appeal is one thing: dressing her like barely more than a streetwalker is something else. As for the OP, I think JLH would work for it. She definitely has the curves, and she's done both action and humor roles very well. I think she'd be great at it. My main concern for almost every version of the costume though, is that the designs look like the woman would end up topless just by moving the wrong way. Diana's a fighter, not a slut; dress her appropriately.

I think what works in a comic doesnt necessarily translate to the screen. The character is more than an outfit and a pair of breasts.

Very true, most of the time. Ultimately, it really depends on what elements you're trying to adapt, though. The suit in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy was largely faithful to the comics, but they also made it functional. I know Diana's supposed to have bulletproof bracelets, but what about the rest of her? In reality, walking around in most of the costumes from the books wouldn't work at all. She's a brave and fierce warrior, but she's not invincible.

Nice to see that someone else actually recognizes this. I fail to see the genuine point in most comic-book characters looking so drastically out of proportion. The men look like semi trucks, and the women are pencil sticks with huge boobs. Seems like some of those artists have perverted stuff going on in their heads.

Oddly, according to some ancient legends, the actual Amazons cut off one of their breasts because large breasts make it hard to accurately shoot a bow. One of the derivations of the word is a mazos which means without breast in ancient Greek which makes the whole obsession with WW breasts odd at best.

kernel thai is dropping some history on all of us. Good point...I remember reading that somewhere as well.

I would still prefer it if Princess Diana possessed 2 boobs instead of one, though

It is?

Sorry couldn't resist

This being said I still think that transcribing WW correctly to the silver screen would require such a drastic departure from the comic version that it would be WWOiN (Wonder woman only in name).

I see in the new DC reboot she's the daughter of Zeus now. That's major upgrade. I guess we can expect the occasional thunder bolt.

Anyone else think that Lynn Collins would make a good Wonder Woman after watching John Carter?

My vote goes to actress Zoe Saldana for the role of Wonder Woman.

Or give some acting lessons to model Alice Goodwin and let her be Wonder Women.

Um, yes?

(The failed TV series is so dead, it's become a running gay-celeb joke on the entertainment-news channels, so IF Warner gets back on the Green Lantern horse and tries to finish off more of their unfinished Justice League Movie individual projects, it'll be a long time in coming...After the Avengers movie, at least.)

Actually, back when the last few seasons of "Smallville" was "auditioning" every single minor DC Justice League character to see who Warner could spin off, we did get the live-action equivalent:

(So...any other jokes? )

she'd be perfect for the role....Lynn Collins all the way....in fact she looks very xenaish in that pic.

her courage will save the world.

has anybody else noticed that in the movie John Carter there were three cast members from the HBO series Rome.

wouldsmash/10?

But seriously though, she looks like a good fit just going from the pic lol

I think Wonder woman just needs a good lead actress and alsoa good script with a decent director attached. But this is DC and they don't seem to get a lot of their big superheroes right.

Superman and recently Batman are the only two that have been really successful. Others such as Green Lantern were apparently better when there was a directors cut but it got severely cut to satiate the studios decision to make more $$$s and we got a sub-par version.

Don't think we'll be seeing a Justice League movie anytime soon to compete with The Avengers and if there is, oh god help us, it'll be a rushed job.

The extended cut of Green Lantern isn't any better.
