I wonder if this release is going to be exactly as the one for Boardwalk Empire The Complete 4th Season, meaning that the slipbox has been completely reduced with an ugly cheap material due to HBO's decision to stop including DVDs.

I see HBO has re-released GoT Season 1-3 without DVDs, so I don't know what to think. I truly hope it isn't the case.

For S1 I got the Walmart, Target & HBO discs. For S2 I got the Walmart and Target discs. And for S3 I just got the Walmart disc, because the Target exclusive was stupid (and available on YouTube nearly a year prior).
I know of only one person who claimed that Walmart was getting an Exclusive, and even that person has removed any mention of a Walmart Exclusive from his website.

This is why it's impt to wait for solid information instead of posting FUD.

I saw 5 episodes of season 1, it`s a good TV show but yet not that great. not like the masterpieces like Dexter, Lost, Prison break and House MD, maybe I`m wrong and it get better by the coming episodes... don`t know.

Wtf? Dexter went from great to shit, season 5 and on were terrible and had the worst finale I've ever seen.

It doesn't get better, it's about the same. I think it's good but like you not super amazing. Then again I'm not a big fantasy fan. I also dislike how seasons have no real endings, it's just one long story.

I was gonna wait for a complete series set, but when they started coming out at $30 a piece I said what the hell.

it takes 5 episodes to kick off for the 1st season. why dont u just shut up and report back after u've finished season 1.

dont listen to this guy. he doesnt like lord of the rings so his opinion is invalid when it comes to game of thrones which shares the swords + sorcery / fantasy genre.

Leaning toward the Martel set. That complete series box is cool, but I don't think FNAC ships worldwide. Only time I got their discs was when I visited France, and since then all 3 have gone missing.

It does start off slow & get better & better, but if you're not into it by episode 5, then it's not really for you. I love House & have the big Blu-ray box set, & I loved Lost before it went completely bonkers & it became obvious that the writers didn't have a clue how to end it, or how to explain any of the mysteries.

Lost, I couldn't even stomach the first episode, and everything I've heard about the show during it's run and after, further reinforces the fact that no one knew what they wanted the show to be or do.

If they go cheap on the packaging again, the OCD in me will go crazy. I keep waiting for a complete series Boardwalk Empire because they cheaper out on the packaging and it looks ridiculous. Might have to do the same with GOT.

You're joking, right? None of those shows are good. They are so far from GOT's level it isn't even funny.

This Scandanavian Limited Edition has the following bonus features:
  • Royal Wedding Feature: In-depth 25-minute feature, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Season 4's Royal Wedding.
  • Costumes Piece: Get a closer look at the creation of the wide- range of original costumes with insights from the cast and crew.
  • 410 Attack Piece: Watch the cast and crew break down one of the most complex, stunt and special effects-heavy sequences on the show, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the thrilling scene in the Season 4 finale.
  • Visual Effects Piece: See the VFX team discuss the epic, cutting- edge graphics for Game of Thrones' biggest season yet
I'm guessing these features will be split up amongst Target, Best Buy, & Walmart. Target has already listed the costume piece as a bonus.

Thats not really a valid reason, personally I think the Lord of the Rings is shit, but game of thrones is easily one of my favorite shows.

OK this post was good for a laugh on an otherwise dreary day. Good but not super amazing? It doesn't get better than the first 5 episodes? Considering that the end of episode 1 is the Queen taking it from behind from her twin brother before he shoves a little kid out a 5 storey window.... yeah how can it get better than that?

Oh wait, kill off half the main characters. Slice off the main protagonist's head. Remove the playboy's most precious appendage. Turn one of the easiest to hate antagonists into someone you cheer for and still feel for even though he's gone back to being (mostly) a dick. Never mind the imp. Best character on TV and that's not even close.

Even then, the fantasy element is really very minor. Hell the dragons don't do much other than eat some sheep and torch a baddie now and then in awesome fashion.

I hope NO ONE listens to your advice with any serious consideration.
