Finished watching. I think fans of the movie will love this release, this is indeed demo material. The last 20 minutes is a real joy to watch.

Yes but that doesn't mean the PQ cannot be outstanding, there are 2K upconverts which simply look amazing and Pacific Rim is definitely one of them!

It's because of the HDR. Pacific Rim was always insanely colorful and the HDR makes it pop even more, despite it actually using a 2K DI. It was also captured using above 2K resolution cameras (I believe it uses 5K in some scenes somebody correct me/google), so that may also be a contributing factor. In the same way that the IMAX footage looks better than the regular film stock on Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar. Both on a 1080p bluray, but the IMAX footage captured more details so it looks yummy as hell regardless of the resolution of the standard bluray.

Hello, Can anyione that already have the disc tell me if this release (4k) has portuguese audio and subtitles?
I'm asking because the specs on the cover is always missing some language, lets take for example San Andreas, Mad Max, Pan, TMNT 2, all this movies have portuguese audio and subtitles, but the cover don't show it.
So, if anyone could help me, I'll be glad.

Spanish release is the closest at the mo, just over £22 shipped from Amazon.es.

Portuguese Dolby Digital 5.1 and Portuguese subtitles are present on the European UHD disc.

It's very strange hearing Idris Elba speak Portuguese I must say.

I use to watch with the original language, but my family don't understand english.

I keep checking Best Buy's website hoping that it will come back in stock before the sale is over. I can't believe I missed this one on Sunday.

With amazon pricing being so high, and best buy not showing it available anywhere, I just ordered one off ebay for $34.75 shipped. Pretty much what I would have paid in the store anyway.

Ok got my Pacific Rim 4K from BB yesterday and wow! Like others have said the colors and details are great. I do have Dolby Atmos and the sound track is awesome too. This was a double dip from the 3D version. Ordered mine on BB on Sat. the 8th and had it on the 11th. Not a bad wait at all.

so sue me - I'm haven't watched the UHD, yet, but the Dolby Vision Vudu version had my jaws (and eyes) on the floor - wow, just wow!
