Wal-mart $19.96 price is instore only. I am assuming this is why Amazon hasn't pricematched. Next time I am at Wal-mart, I may pick this up if the deal is still available.

Why is this listing as $25 on Wal-Mart's website if it's $20 in-store? I won't be able to swing by Wal-Mart until Saturday and I fear it might be sold out by then, so I went to purchase it on the website and hold for pickup. But it lists $25. Very frustrating. Not sure what to do. I'd rather not overpay $5 for no reason.

Wal-Mart's done this to me a few times with their online/in-store pricing.

I couldn't resist when I saw confirmation that it was only $19.96. Went during lunch to grab my copy. My Wal-Mart had about 10 on the shelves.

Maybe you guys can take that picture above to Best Buy to price match?

I just checked brickseek and all my local Wal-Marts list it as $20. Very frustrating indeed. I want to order this on the website to lock it in for pickup this weekend so I have a copy. But I'm not paying $5 more for that privilege when I can walk in and pay $20. Guess I have to cross my fingers and hope it's still available on Saturday.

I would go right away just to guarantee a copy as most stores only have 3-5 copies. Although its not necessarily a hot selling item.

Its not necessarily flying off the shelves. You should be fine though. But, to be on safe side I would order for instore pickup at $25 and when you go pick up do an adjustment at CS. Or just return it and rebuy it instore.

I haven't watched the BD of this in a while but by just quickly glancing at the UHD on its own must say that the PQ looks great. Contains nice colors and contrast without sacrificing detail. Skin tones in particular throughout, but particularly during the sea voyage, look magnificent.

I also did not notice compression issues but did see a little bit of banding in various sky shots (both night and day), but am unsure if it's down to my panel (OLED C6) or the disc itself. I'll have a chance to check the disc later on a Sony LCD (930E) and see if the banding is still there.

Just picked this up from Walmart but holding off to watch it till I get Kong skull island. I will pop it in to check some scenes out to see how good or bad it looks tonight.

Just finished watching this. Gorgeous disc with a couple minor issues.

Universal really aren't shy about using HDR on older titles. With Sony, Warner and others the older films use it very subtly, but with the Mummy trilogy and now this Universal are cranking up the HDR dial, which (accurate or not) makes for lovely images. This sucker pop pop pops and looks divine. Contrast can look hot but if you compare it to the BD that's just the look of the movie in those scenes, the HDR is just making it brighter. It's also surprisingly much sharper than the BD in comparison.

That all said there's a couple issues. For one I saw banding where there is none on the BD, mostly when the ship is navigating the fog and some other nighttime sky shots. Also the bump in res makes some CGI backgrounds look worse, and Kong's face can look a little too crisp sometimes if that makes sense. Other CG shots are helped by the HDR though, so it's a mixed bag.

In any event, buy this disc if you like the movie. Looks great.

Love the Leeloo avatar vinny (multipass!). Given the reports of banding I'll be eager to check it on my ZD9 as it's one of the few TVs out there that is properly processing 10-bit material according to Stacey Spears.
