I went on a Disc Replay jaunt to Indianapolis today, and just for giggles I worked in 7 Target stores along my route just to get a feel for how many of these ex-Best Buy 4K steelbooks are out there.
Of the 7 stores, all but 2 of them had at least shelf stickers for the 4K steelbooks in question: 1917 How to Train Your Dragon E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Incredible Hulk Schindler's List Inventory levels were very low and not all stores had all of the titles still in stock. The most of any title I saw at any store was 4. Most titles were 1 or 2 units if they were in stock at all. At 2 stores I asked a CSR to scan the barcode for titles that were seemingly out of stock, in case there were "more in the back" and in no cases did they have reserve stock. If it wasn't on the shelves, they didn't currently have any more. 3 of the 7 stores had stock for the Back to the Future 4K Steelbook trilogy. 1 of the stores for some reason didn't have places/stickers for How to Train Your Dragon or E.T., just the other titles. Bizarrely, one solitary store (which if you include my 2 local stores makes it 1 out of 9) had copies of the Waterworld 4K Steelbook, another supposed BB exclusive. I have no idea if these are BB returns or unsolds that found their way to another distribution channel/vendor or what. You would think that if BB exclusive steelbooks were returned or unsold, they would make their way back to Best Buy, even if only for online purchase, rather than being made available to a competitor. IMO, I would get while the getting is good, as my (admittedly nonscientific) survey implies that these aren't necessarily out there in large numbers. |

Donnie Darko didn't have a 4K release from another studio. I said double-dip, not upgrade. They have been upgrading their own special editions lately (hopefully Robocop is coming), but I don't think they'll be double-dipping pre-existing 4K releases, especially since the market is even smaller than standard BD.

Got another backorder email from Target at 1 a.m. for the Dune 4K steelbook, one that requires me to accept the new delivery date. Only when I click on it, it doesn't give me any option whatsoever. WTF?
Also, the listing for the 4K steel is gone from the website. |

I had a business meeting in the opposite direction from my trip yesterday so I hit 3 more Targets that I'd not been to before. VERY sparse. People are picking the shelves clean of those bargain 4K steelbooks.
REMINDER: The 20% off movies sale ends TOMORROW, July 3, so get out there! |

Completely on point. I remember having to do this with the Friday the 13th Complete Collection months back when it was a Buy 2 Get 1 free deal. I approved it a few times, but eventually forgot. Then it got cancelled. I have a feeling the same thing is going to happen to me here. It’s frustrating to say the least.

I don't know how to do Circle in store otherwise. Maybe it's the same barcode (under wallet) only it doesn't make the purchase. |

You can also print a barcode from the Circle website to use in store with your loaded offers.

I did a couple years ago. They sent me someone elses order instead of my own on accident. Tbey told md to just keep the item and they sent out a new item for my correct order.
