A lot of the previous posts make me feel lucky; I ordered on Sunday and it shipped out today via UPS.

And...she came back with a box full of DVDs, BDs, and 4ks, but no steelbooks. I applaud her effort though!

Maybe 10k units at $39 a pop. Not even a drop in the bucket on their P&L. Walmart won’t care.

Walmart Frustration!

I pre-ordered the steelbook the moment it went live and kept an eye on my order, but there was no movement. Then today, I got a text saying my order was delayed, along with a tracking number. Not even two seconds later, another text arrived saying my order was canceled due to a "payment error"—which is absolute nonsense. I use the same card for pre-orders all the time, including at Walmart.

I even went to five different stores across the Tulsa metro, and none had the steelbook in stock. Two stores had placeholders, but no actual copies.

When I called 1-800-WALMART, they blamed my bank and offered me a $25 promo code—but only if I spend $45 first. They also claimed the steelbooks would be back in stock within 1-3 days, which I seriously doubt. Hands down, the worst experience ever!

Truly bad form for Walmart to accept all of these pre-orders months out and then cancel them randomly.

I preordered on November 28th. They just put a hold on my credit card. I then immediately got an email saying that my order was delayed. It was supposed to be here by Monday. I already knew it was delayed. I really wanted this Steelbook. That was why I preordered it months ago. I was afraid I was going to get cancelled so I placed an order on Ebay for the Steelbook a few hours ago. It already shipped so I can't cancel it now. If the one from Walmart eventually shows up, I am not sure what I am going to do with it. Return it or try to sell it and get some of the extra $20 back that I had to pay to get it on Ebay. This stinks. Walmart really dropped the ball on this one.

Mine said cancelled first then delayed...but it was cancelled after all. I asked to speak to a rep and after some hullabaloo I was given a $25 credit which I applied to Loki Season 2...

Well at least I'll get a gift card for the trouble. I barely was able to snatch one in the store out of fear my order would be cancelled but if I happen to get one from .com then I'll sell it to someone who really wants it. This whole release was a giant mess.

Site review is up. The reviewer says the steelbook is very highly recommended. I have to agree! If you can get your hands on it.

The same thing happened to me. First, they said my order was delayed, and then, literally two seconds later, I got a notification that my order was canceled. I called WM, and they gave me a $25 credit. The rep told me the steel books should return in stick in 1-3 days.

It should be clear by now that some kind of glitch/issue occurred that resulted in a fair number of pre-orders from the first few days to just go into limbo forever. I highly doubt it has anything to do with the company deciding to ship newer orders while those remain in Placed status. And maybe the truth is what Walmart had stated previously and a certain distribution system is to blame and all our original orders are locked into a location that didn't get the steelbooks like it should have.

I did what many others did. I waited until I got a chance to place a new order. My new order is with FedEx and should be here tomorrow. My original order never moved and I simply canceled due to what I said above.

But seriously, glad yours and other’s orders are finally being shipped.
Mine is out for delivery today and shipped out last week. Usually arrives in a few days but seems like it was shipped with a slower shipping service. Maybe because I used a $5 promo code - well doesn’t matter as long as it arrives and in good condition.

FWIW, for those of you that had your orders cancelled and are worried that it won't come back in stock, Fnac still has the French edition available for preorder (no release date listed yet).
