Soooooo Visa account already drained.

Hahaha. Ja mahn coolio on tha Ganja.

I just added a 3 year lamp warranty (meaning 2 spare lamps) for my X3, a double sealed box for shipping and the best Fedex shipping option available. I could also get the 4 year pj warranty but since i can wait 3 months before i purchase this i'll wait.

Im not made of money.

Especially with Christmas and two birthdays including my own approaching.

Who knows i might already get my new projector next week if all goes well.

I wish I had a spare lamp. If/when my lamp goes, it's going to be torture saving enough money for a new one and waiting for it to arrive.

It must be nice being a fat cat in your ivory tower.

Yes it's sure hard too live without the cinema experience a good projector/big screen can give you. I've only been without my pj for a few days and im already starting too feel the withdrawals.

Btw. the lamp warranty thing is just common sense after having read a lot of folks having problems with their jvc lamps blowing up and prematurely dimming down.

Some blow up at 500 hours or less.. Something too do with a bad lamp design and heating problems and jvc not wanting too shift the manufacturer/factory of the lamps.

So im not taking any chances there.

Im pretty sure the latter. Even with only two spare lamps for 149$ the warranty costs im still saving 80% opposed to having to purchase them separately here in Denmark.

I sometimes wonder if most of the problems people have with early lamp failure is because they don't treat their equipment carefully and gently. I still use my projector on the low lamp setting, I never turn it on until I'm ready to use it for at least a couple of hours, I always make sure that it's completely cooled off and shut down when I'm done with it, and I completely unplug my entire home theater after I'm finished for the night, just in case of power surges or lightning, etc. I also only turn it on and off one time during any given day that I'm using it. I also try to keep it clean, and I vacuum off the air intake filter about once a month to make sure it has plenty of fresh airflow to the lamp.
