Neve ALWAYS says "if the scripts good..." so I'm sure it won't take much convincing for S6. However I think Sid's storyline is hanging by a thread.

Scream - Iconic, clever, exciting original take on the Slasher genre
Scream 2 - Fantastic sequel that's 'almost' as good as the first
Scream 3 - Bad with some okay moments and a decent finale
Scream 4 - Serviceable "last hurrah" nostalgia trip ruined by terrible cinematography, bad humour and a weak tacked-on ending
Scream 5 - Disrespectful, utterly pointless, lazy garbage with nothing new to say and the worst actors/characters/killers in the franchise

Scream is my favourite movie but there's nothing new to do. It's going to go the way of the Terminator franchise where the point has been well made in the first two, yet it keeps limping along, getting worse and worse as it goes tarnishing the legacy of the series. Just stop. Reboot it completely with a completely fresh style, tone, characters, reflection on the Slasher genre etc... or go in the opposite direction entirely and do 'Stab' spin-offs and have a more wacky and fun series.

We started our journey to Scream 2022 last night by watching the 4K UHD of Scream 1996 last night, wow it looks incredible. Such a shame i have to go to the ratty looking blu for my favourite in the series, Scream 2 tonight. I guess at this rate we'll be watching Scream 2022 Saturday evening, looking forward to it.

I bought the UK 4K UHD double pack of Scream 1996 and Scream 2022, which makes it look even more absurd that they have the same title.

That's how I'd put it, sorry to hijack your rank but it was almost on the nosey. Scream 2022 is above Scream 3 but not by much.

I'm almost in agreement, although I'd say 5 is just bad and 3 is TERRIBLE.

I don't dislike any of them, they all have entertainment value to varying degrees. For as much hate as 3 gets, I think it's thoroughly enjoyable. It's a thoughtful commentary on the dark side of Hollywood that predates Weinstein and Epstein. It also plays with the life imitating art imitating life(a notion hinted at in S2) with fake Woodsboro and Sid's grasp with her own sanity as she goes thru a maze of her past life. Dempsey was a boss leading man, and it is genuinely a funny movie.

I do think it misses the Kevin Williamson touch and the Scooby-Doo plotting is a bit weak. It's only merely ok as a Scream movie, but in general it's still an entertainer.

This would be my ranking as well.

Even the lower quality entries are highly entertaining and enjoyable to me. I think the worst part is they all had the potential to be greater than they ended up being; a lot of the elements are there but they didn’t coalesce.

It's really not but it's still a major decline compared to the first 2 films.

I honestly find Scream 3 kinda boring, which is a shame because I'm usually a sucker for stories about the dark underbelly of Hollyweird and how the industry is full of perverts.

I agree, I rather liked the last Scream movie. I went into it thinking it'd stink, but I liked the ode to Wes. I might tie 3 and 4, both have good parts and bad parts, but aren't as strong as the other 3 movies.
