BDs That Are Out of Print (OOP)

Decided to pick up Ford Fairlane, Kiss of the Dragon and License to Drive. Been meaning to pick up Fairlane for awhile, who knows if I would have bought the other two without the impulse to beat the OOP nature but Jet Li is always fun to watch and I love me 80's cheese so they'll be put to good use anyway.

Though I do think all three of those are likely label contenders someday, so we might regret it. But oh well, whatever.

Monkeybone seems to have vanished except at stupid prices. I tried to pick one up on ebay, but there aren't even any listings anymore except one from Australia.

If you miss the initial "gold rush" when people realize something is OOP, just set an ebay alert and wait awhile. All the random second-hand sales have been snatched up by OOP-hunters, but this fervor will die down, and you'll eventually be able to get most oop titles for a reasonable price when some normal person lists a copy on ebay at some point in the future.

Solid tip. I've been lucky and found many of the oop titles I didn't already have locally such as the Ace Venturas, Near Dark, The Phantom, The Cable Guy, Willow, etc. Very few folks are nerdy enough to keep track of what movies are or are not in print at a given point in time. I've seen some out of print blus sit on shelves for dirt cheap prices around here for months.

I think perhaps the film noir Out of the Past could be going OOP. It is only available via 3rd party sellers on Amazon and online at Bestbuy. It says the film can't be picked up. It's not on Wal-mart's site either. I'm not saying it is OOP for sure, but it could be headed that way.

It's "MOD" but not burned, the press their Archive discs 1,000 at a time or whatever. I would guess they just need to press more for an Amazon re-stock and haven't done it yet.

Amazon themselves only have 3 copies listed, rest are old stock from outside sellers.
