Hi Joe. I have an theory here (possibly less of a "theory" and more like "pointing out the obvious"):

I think that that Amazon reviewer may have been guilty of something that I believe many people (myself included, back in the day) have been guilty of. When they understood a film to have been natively-shot, they automatically believed it was better than if they were aware that it had been post-converted. Some sort of confirmation bias. And not an unreasonable one, thinking back to the very early days of post-conversion. I hope that review is many years old; it would be alarming if his "Makes such a difference!" comment was more recent - that's something that I think every user of this forum has been well beyond for a long time.

(Incidentally, I'm not for one second suggesting that you were applying that logic: As mentioned, I know your love of all things 3D comes with a level of positivity and good-natured enthusiasm that I can only dream of possessing!)

Joe, my absolute faith in you will always be unshakeable!

I watched Finest Hours yesterday, enjoyed it a lot. Maybe not exactly demo quality 3D, but I definitely think the film is significantly enhanced by it. (Still can't believe Holliday Grainger was cast as one of the Ugly Sisters - I know, they didn't actually call them that - in the excellent Cinderella live action remake.) I like to think that as I sat down and pressed "play", four and a half thousand miles away Gary was doing it at exactly the same time..!

Hi telegram,

Good point about intent - the review was from July 2014. And again, thanks so much for the kind words. All I can say is they must be reflective of the author.

So your Bunker is 4,634 miles away from Gary. If you both hit the play button at the same time it means one of you probably had trouble sleeping. Lol

Hi grazina, also got my copy today as well. Plan to watch it tonight or tomorrow.

Regarding the money, think of it this way: if you go broke you won't be alone since I'll be there with you.

I love this movie, and I’m SOOOOOOOO glad I snagged the Brazilian Blu! A non-showy but very effective 3-D conversion — when they’re going over the bar I’m right there with them. One of the most underrated and underknown 3-D films EVAH.

Just a little update but not very 3D, it’s day 11 since my wife’s total knee replacement, it’s been hellish for her…well both of us really!, she has never experienced pain like it before but it’s now calming down a little.
Different news is we are expecting delivery today of a new 3D projector, a JVC NZ5 laser, I don’t think I will see much of a difference in pq from my current jvc but a little more brightness for 3D will be a bonus plus being able to use it at will without the worry of UHP lamp cycling for those 1 hr documentaries like David Attenborough etc.

It’s 22kg and I’m not as fit as I once was so I’ll have to wait until I get some help from my nephew to lift it onto the ceiling mount.

I’m just wondering which 3D Blu ray to test it out with first….

Wow! Quite envious. It’s about time for Polar Express or a Christmas Carol or of course Tenet in 4K.

So happy to got this used for only 15,50 Euro all inclusive here in Germany
Guess this would be much more expensive to import from the US with tax.

Watched the first minutes on my LG OLED 3D yesterday. Wow!

The 3D is really great for this classic drawing style. I didn't expect anything because many of the reviews are rather bad and I was more than positively surprised at how great the 3D effect is.

Hi panman,

Very sorry your wife has been in so much pain after the surgery. Was hoping it would be mild since that was how it was for my beloved Mary Jane .

Hope the new projector helps bring a smile to both of you.
