Plus Spidey 2 was already a great transfer to begin with, and is not much of an upgrade, and actually prefer the look of the first transfer, colours look more natural.
In motion on a TV I guarantee the 4k remaster wipes the floor with the old one, especially on actual 4k disc (which you should probably just wait to get).

I wonder if Sony is using these masters for their catalog uhd titles or doing completely new ones? Godzilla '98 is coming soon and is a huge guilty pleasure of mine. Hope it's a new Sony pristine scan.

If they already did a 4k OCN scan I don't see why they'd do it again. The UHDs still look miles better thanks to HDR, wide color and in some cases the resolution increase. Ghostbusters is a good example where it's the same master but the UHD utterly spanks the Mi4k BD version.

Good to know, thanks. I never picked up any of the Mi4k Sony bds and was worried they didn't cut the mustard for uhds. Sony has been terrific so far with their catalog uhd releases so I can pretty much expect the same result with Godzilla in May.

Yeah other than Fifth Element and Cliffhanger they're pretty much batting a thousand on UHD in general.

the Mi4K version of Godzilla looks fantastic so no reason to think a 4K release wouldn't.

It's funny, as the colours of the actual 4K disc are the exact same as the original, whilst the Mi4K version looks off. I'm not going to get a 4K TV or player anytime soon, 1080p is good enough.
