People who actually get scared easily probably have way more of a fun time with horror films anyways.
I have to have the atmosphere just right to get the creeps: middle of the night, completely dark, and by myself.

When I watched It yesterday in the theater I kept thinking, "this would creep me out if I was at home in the dark."

Right, because the cheesy as shit mini-series/Tim Curry performance was so much more chilling and terrifying.

Yeah in 1990 seeing it for the first time it was. Just like seeing Salems Lot 1979 was pretty scary as well.

Been interesting reading peoples thoughts on this movie. I'm kind of in the meh camp. It didn't live it and didn't hate it. The kids were likeable and fun, but it didn't succeed in the scare department for the most part for me. The movie could've used less Pennywise imo and really made the most of those scenes. I felt like an overload of Pennywise which took some of the bite away from the scares. The score was wonderful though.

Pretty much. Is the tv series classic as hell? You bet. Is it scary and well made? Not really.

Once you pass a certain point with horror movies you can certainly become desensitized to scares. I enjoy a horror movie if it's well made. IT certainly is well made. Hope chapter 2 is just as good.

I love seeing a R rated horror movie doing so well. More like this and I would go to the theater more often. I'll even go on opening weekend and deal with *******s looking at their phones every 5 minutes and crowded theaters.

Thoroughly enjoyed this but that's almost entirely based on the strength of the kids and their story. The horror element was a big letdown for me. I was decently tense in some parts but "It" has a reputation of being utterly terrifying so I was expecting a whole lot more. Maybe I'm a little screwy in the head but it was more fun than anything else.

Pennywise himself was varying degrees of effective, at his best when he's looming and allowed to just do his thing and at his worst when he's zooming towards the camera shaking wildly. Thought Skarsgard did a great job regardless.

Can't compare to anything since this is my first exposure to the material, but the 2 1/4 hours flew by. Biggest criticisms being some of the characters got left in the dust (Mike), I'm not particularly clear on the how and why of a lot of things, and - again - the horror. Acting, production design, etc were all more than enough to make it excel overall, though.

Did anyone else think that Pennywise dancing scene was like a build up of one of those cool attacks of a boss in a video game? I would love to see Pennywise as a character in Nintendo's Punch-Out - the Pennywise dance-to-lunge move is like a super attack move versus Little Mac!

And on the pre-fight load screen, his taunt should be the "I'm Pennywise, the danicing clown!" with that little head wobble and bell jingle from the opening scene

I'd totally play an RPG in which you go around Derry as one of the Losers.

Or you can play as Pennywise and eat children.

I saw this earlier today in RPX & really enjoyed it! The 1990 TV movie will always have a special place in my heart. But man, this is how a book adaptation should be done! I hope Mr. King is happy because I was! Highly Recommended! 4.5/5

Trailers I saw prior to the film: (Yes, all of these were shown)

Death Wish
Jigsaw
Mother
Happy Death Day
Murder on the Orient Express

Just got back from my second viewing a loved it just as much but was a little bit of a different experience this time and not in a bad way.

Thank God the theater management gave a warning about cell phone use to everyone before the movie started! Can this be a regular thing please?

99% of the audience was great but had a few annoying teenage girls behind us laughing through the whole damn movie.

MAAAAD! MAAAAD!

The more I think about it since seeing it, I have to agree. In my top five so far this year for sure

It really is more than a horror movie

With the success of It, I hope a two part adaptation of The Stand gets moving again. Read that several times growing up and it could use a big screen remake. Just the tv movie adaptation of It, The Stand is dated as well though I enjoyed it when it initially came out.

I think that The Exorcist is a great horror movie.

I just happen to like at least 50 horror movies even better.

I've never seen your home before, but I'd say that the chance of there being a New Kids on the Block poster on your bedroom door is roughly 100%.

You can open up to us. There is no shame on Blu-ray.com.

Does IT have different forms or is he just in his Pennywise form through the whole movie? Is it worth going to see it in the theaters or waiting for the blu-ray release?

Anytime we ever saw Pennywise's mouth or rows of razor sharp teeth, I immediately thought of Fright Night

Really enjoyed the 2017 film, but the surplus of CGI made it a tad bit hokey or cartoony looking.
