The Lighthouse is Universal in the UK and Lionsgate in US/CA so it will be UK only,

What a weird Universal deal. They all seem to be recent auteur films. Wolf of Wall Street, The Sisters Brothers, Boyhood, Black Hat, The Lighthouse.

Of course the only one that gets a dual territory release is the stinker in the bunch, Black Hat.

Thankfully we have retailers who will ship them to us in the US.

DiabolikDVD almost immediately comented on it, with what appeared to be advanced knowledge, so I'm guessing they will be carrying it, as they don't have an ongoing relationship with the A24 store.

Not that I saw, but admittedly I didn't watch the whole thing. He did mention he's currently working on a 'prestige' title from a big studio, so one would think something Paramount or Universal.

Trouble with the older Universal catalogue (say pre-2010) is that it's being plundered left, right and centre these days. I don't see anything unreleased on Blu-ray that Arrow would be interested in, and they're competing with Kino, Shout and even Criterion for the choice potential 4K UHD upgrades. There's still some notable ones we haven't seen that would suit the Arrow brand (both Cape Fears, the Conan films), so perhaps they might come from them eventually.

Diabolik just posted this on their Twitter.

"A little insider tip.... if you are looking to get a copy of of Arrow's HOUSE 2 Blu-Ray, you should probably do so sooner than later. "

Interesting he just mentions the sequel. Anyways, just a heads up on here in case somebody needs to pick it up.

I have no issues with the recent Universal titles. If there's a gripe in there it's simply a repeat of the same old argument of most of the real cool stuff being UK only but they never seem to have a problem getting dual territory on the duds. (Black Hat in this case)

Out of all of those...only Wolf of Wall Street got the Limited Edition slipbox, yeah?

Crossing my fingers that The Lighthouse does too.

The picture is a little unclear but I think Boyhood has a box since it has a 60 page perfect-bound book.

Strange tip. Almost like there's something wrong with that German UHD box set that's out soon?

The way I took it, [wishful thinking], was that Arrow might announce a House UHD soon, but for only the first film, leaving folks to scramble for the second one.

Or the folks that own Lakeshore are giving Arrow the cold shoulder and it will be reissued by another label?

They didn't let Arrow have Children of the Corn 2/3 in the US and the last bunch of Lakeshore titles made available for licensing all went to Vinegar Syndrome.

Fran's hint sheets had clues that could have been House or Hellraiser UHD's. Whatever H X 2 UHD was suppose to be never materialized?

I wonder if it's going OOP. I wouldn't want to miss out on it, if the German version ends up being not so good. Hmm.

Children of the Corn 2/3 are with Miramax in the US not Lakeshore.

It would been kind of difficult for Lakeshore/RLJ to license titles they do not own. Both Children of the Corn 2/3 were owned at the time by Miramax now they are at Paramount.

Children of the Corn 2/3 are not Miramax titles. They have always been with the Lakeshore library.

Don't tell me, tell that to Paramount / Miramax to see what they say:

Rumor mill is boiling today,

Now someone in the UK thread is claiming to have inside info that Arrow is releasing Scorsese's Hugo.

Could be US/CA only if it's part of the Paramount deal. Fran also kinda-sorta hinted at Bringing Out the Dead. Interesting they may have went after at least 2 Scorsese titles in the Paramount deal.

Arrow also announced their April slate for the streaming service:

Showing on ARROW are four films from legendary Japanese director Nobuhiko Ôbayashi, a cinema pioneer whose career spanned sixty years and dozens of films. Immerse yourself into the wonderful, visionary world of Ôbayashi with the intriguing sci-fi fantasies School in the Crosshairs and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, the dazzling magical adventure The Island Closest to Heaven, and the romantic drama His Motorbike, Her Island.

Has these Obayashi titles ever had a US or UK release previously? Arrow uses a lot of third party companies to supply streaming content...but these could be with Arrow too.

I've only seen Obayashi's House via Criterion, which is a super cool film. Wouldn't mind seing his other stuff.

Other notable stuff being added in April, digital versions of Arrow's Naked Lunch and The Creeping Garden discs and Eli Roth's Cabin Fever.

As per Arrow's streaming lineup for April it looks like the films No Escape and The Grand Tour will be streaming in the US/CA only.

I think Barndoor posted rumors about Arrow having No Escape before?
