I might be reading too much into it, but the ellipsis on the See you soon… for the Psycho post makes me think it’s an upgrade hint.

That line made me think so too, even if it is mother's day in the UK.

Likewise.

Wasn't this rumored to be a part of an Empire Pictures Box Set from Arrow a while back?

Yeah, so it might be part of a set, versus a stand alone. Not sure what else might be included outside of Ghoulies.

Is Ghoulies actually confirmed to be with Arrow? And if so, is it just US only, as 101 Films appears to still have the rights in the UK. If they only have US rights, then I can't see Dolls only being released in an Empire Pics box set.

I'm also not convinced an Empire Pictures set is on the cards, given what's currently under licence to other US and UK labels. For starters, it would basically be stuff already available on Blu-ray, since there's very few unreleased Empire titles with MGM (presumably nothing will be licenced from Full Moon):

The Alchemist (don't know if this is with MGM or Full Moon)
Savage Island
Enemy Territory
Buy and Cell
(again, I don't know if this is with MGM or Full Moon)
Arena (if elements can be found)

Enemy Territory would be huge and likely shift sets on its own, but the music rights issues with that are well documented.

Providing Arrow couldn't get any of these, you'd probably be looking at a theoretical set consisting of part or all of the following (let's say it's a dual territory release):

The Dungeonmaster
Ghoulies 1 and 2
Breeders
Crawlspace
Dolls
Eliminators
Terrorvision
Cellar Dweller
Prison
Catacombs
Ghost Town
Robot Jox

I’d buy an Arrow release of Dolls in a heartbeat; it’s a surprisingly well done and effective little film with excellent practical effects.

I wonder if they found of could find a new element for Cellar Dweller . The Shout! double feature with it made mention of the only known surviving print being the source for the newest HD transfer, iirc. I like the film a lot though and find it fun. I would love to see a new transfer/release.

Dolls is a pretty good movie. It has a cool "dark gothic fairy tale" vibe that makes it feel different than a lot of the other killer doll films.

I know that they have Ghoulies. They checked out the elements and did a new scan last fall. I know someone who was involved with that. I have no idea if it will be UK, US or dual territory.

I definitely think there's going to be at least a US release, there's that Jesse / Diabolik post from a while ago.

Speaking of Arrow restorations screening theatrically

https://www.moma.org/calendar/events/7979

Arrow's new 4K restoration of Brain Damage premiered at MOMA in New York last July. Presumably it was for an upcoming reissue or 4K release. Surprised it hasn't been announced yet.

Interesting. When the Blu came out they had to use an existing HD master because a major studio had the original elements and wouldn’t grant them access. I forget the studio.

In a recent interview with AVForums, Jasper Sharp basically confirmed an Arrow release of Unman, Wittering and Zigo, since we know he was already involved with the production of extras for the film.

Around the 40-minute mark, he mentions a studio title he's working on, 'a really interesting 70s British film, that's never been on home video, but people might remember it being on TV a lot back in the 80s'.

This at least signals more interesting/obscure Paramount titles are coming from Arrow.

Don't need 4K so perfectly happy with a blu-ray release of Dolls from Arrow!

Arrow releasing The Lighthouse, maybe...?

https://twitter.com/ArrowFilmsVideo/...HaLlqa3eg&s=19

This will definitely be a Day One purchase if it's a 4K release! First Arrow in a LONG time if so.

I missed out on Scream's release of Dolls, so I will be in for the Arrow release.
