I think it was around $25 for shipping, but I got a few others as well. I am just sayin that there are some really awesome guys on this board who are not looking to profit on these exclusives.

THOR was not that much better. Maybe a little bit.

I have not seen CAPTAIN AMERICA, but I'm expecting it to be the best one.

While GL was not the best movie, I don't think it deserves to be the punching bag that everyone sets it up to be.

It doesn't have to be expensive.

If you are buying 1 Steel, then you are paying through the nose and paying the maximum shipping cost.

I have forum members whom are friends (and pay in advance). They rack up a list of SteelBooks and then ship a bunch in one go.

The last package I sent out last week was 7 Steels to Portugal for $40. That is a little more than $5.00 per Steel, which, IMO is very reasonable.

Like the other member said, even driving to your local BB requires either a car and gas, or bus tickets. Unless you happen to live next door to one!

Whoa now, Thor was A LOT better and it wasn't even a good movie.

I can't bring myself to purchase a G1 but i do think it's a nice looking steel.

They don't, they also don't care about steelbooks in general. People always think you can generalize very specific forums to the real world...you can't.

Hello all, I ordered Green Lantern Steelbook several weeks ago and the package arrived last week. I was very disappointed when I opened the package. The steelbook have major dent on the bottom left on G1 case. Of course i called best buy.com and check if they can send another one to replace my order. But they are sold out
I plan to give it to my nephew so I am wonder if anyone have extra and sell me for reasonable price.

let me know
I am new with this forum

Thanks

I agree; it just became a punching bag because of genre fatigue, maybe also because the back story probably makes a heck of a lot more sense if you've been a long-time fan, not so much for a first-time viewer.

You can't be further from reality. I was at best buy on release day for Fast Five and ran into an old friend. He just beat me there and had the DVD steelbook in his hands when I saw him. He actually put it back and bought the real BD because he hated the large case. He isn't even close to being a collector, hell I didn't even know the guy bought BDs.

the problem I have with Green Lantern...if they had a better director, then it would have been a better movie.

what I hated...

* all the explosions were bad CGI effects..terrible...no real explosion or flame... check it again if you don't see that...
* all the people were just standing around when a helicopter 20 ft above them losing control....and they run when it explodes on the ground. really? LOL...

I don't expect movies to be perfect as there is no such thing, but I expect a better use of today's CGI effects. I felt the movie was made 10 years ago...

Anyhow, just my personal opinion.

I prefer the US steelbook than Triple Play steelbook.

Sorry, it seems a little funny that with people saying you can't generalize based on one forum, you submit this one guy you ran into as proof that Icemouth's point "can't be further from reality".
There are pretty solid numbers showing blu vs dvd sales on things. Blu is still a minority. the minority within that minority that know what a steelbook is much smaller, and the number that collect them is even smaller than that. Just because one dude you know doesn't like the bigger sized case, has no bearing at all on general "reality". As far as I see it.

For GL, I too prefer the Best Buy to HMV because of the horrid banner. I have the two HMV's I ordered sitting on eBay now, and I REALLY wish steelbooks mattered to more people or there might be someone watching them at this point (though I realize the movie itself was less than universally acclaimed). Going to Canada in 2 weeks though (hoping to get the Harry Potter steelbook shelf), and might pick up the FS steel and ditch the Best buy. We shall see.

I'd buy it, assuming it's G2 size and comes with the DVD like the release I already have.

Sorry, it's G1(DVD sized case), but it does come with a DVD.

Same here. Found it in the DVD section though. Guess they thought it was DVD because of the G1 size, even though the top says Blu-Ray.

definitely looks G2.

BTW, visit a Wal-Mart. They re-released these and they seem to have been stocking it. Looks visually the same.

Only the original release from BB was G1. All the rest are G2.
