I'm the opposite. Don't get me wrong: I really liked CF. Like, a LOT. But I still like the first film more. Though the ending of CF SO TOTALLY KICKS ASS!

Then again, "Catching Fire" was my least favorite of the books, so maybe it makes sense that I would have that reaction. I read the books between the first and second films.

Anyways, completely looking forward to Mockingjay. It's gonna be CRAZY! Definitely want to read the book again before Nov.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out. Either way, I'll definitely make it for this one.

Good to see some proper Mockingjay footage at last, though I can't help but think that the dialogue's a bit too on the nose with that "the games broke her" line. Well, duh. I hope every new scene with Coin isn't as expository as that...

Can't watch to see this. I still need to finish Catching Fire, too. I bought it, watched the first 30 minutes, turned it off and haven't finished it yet.

Are you an English major or something? The line is fine actually unless you overthink it. Especially since context is thrown out the window in trailers.

Note: Spoiler relates to major character death in Catching fire do not read if you have not seen the movie or read the books.

Look at what happened in Catching Fire that line makes perfect sense when hypothetically speaking if she can or cannot be the face/leader of the revolution. The games did break her its obvious, but they also lit a fire in her which you can see after
[Show spoiler]Cinna was presumably killed in front of her eyes
. As I have not read the books this is how I interpreted what went down.

Sure, it's a proper 'trailery' thing to say, but of all the things these characters could be talking about, do we really need to be informed that "the games broke her" during the movie? Of course they bloody well broke her, she's a wreck in the book, and if the moviemakers are confident in their abilities then they'll be able to show that and not smack the nail on the head with such obvious writing.

In the US, Interstellar is scheduled for two weeks before Mockingjay Part 1. I think that means that Mockingjay won't be in IMAX.

It's obviously a set-up for PSH's response as too why she is INDEED the one for the job, that she is so strong she can overcome what she has been through.

I would say its more the actress ability to convey being broke then the writers. Being broken would be more about body and eye language as well as vocal fluctuation then anything. In all honestly it looks promising just by the way she walked and delivered the I will I am line in the trailer. I think she did a fantastic job in Catching Fire when she freaked out in the beginning as well as in her room. The writers only put lines to the page based off a book that's already written for them. It takes a very good actor or actress to properly portray whats written and perform it for an audience.

I hate to fall back on that but look at Ledgers Portrayal of Joker in Dark Knight. I didn't find the character crazy I found him to be psychotic. It takes a hellva actor or actress with a ton of range to pull that off.

Not that I disagree with anything else you said, I don't.

But even given that "crazy" is not a clinical term at all, how is someone who is psychotic not crazy?

ETA: Oh, and I completely disagree with your diagnosis. Joker wasn't delusional at all. He was in complete contact with reality. He had no break with the world around him. He was just someone who lived to break things, to cause chaos. He was a psychopath, sure. But psychotic? No.

My point is when you first watch the movie, until he reveals his ace in the hole, you really don't see he has a plan at all. He just kills and causes chaos because he truly enjoys it. You see the mannerisms depicted by Ledger, the tone of his voice, the look in his eyes, and and the guys is a psyco. That is what I mean, yes by the time you get through the entire movie you see he truly had a plan all along etc etc. Overall tho it was not the writers that portrayed this it was the actor, and essentially that's what the actress here needs to do. She needs to make us believe she is broken not just with lines form other actors, its going to be her body language and the look in her eyes, the tone of her voice etc etc.

Fair enough. It just bothers me when people use imprecise terms relating to mental disease -- it's a thing.

As for J-Law, I've seen her enough I have no doubt she's up to the task.

Maybe they will consider alternating showtimes like they did with Transcendence/Captain America and Edge of Tomorrow/How to Train Your Dragon earlier this year.

If it wasn't filmed in IMAX like Catching Fire I'd be disappointed anyways

Just noticed in the trailer that Beetee is in a wheel chair, is he stuck in it for good or just briefly as he recovers?

New character posters that were leaked. They were supposed to be released tomorrow, but it looks like someone hacked the marketing team
