200+ hours OMG. And I thought the idea of a 100 hour game was daunting LOL! 200+ is insane! I may get the game eventually along with a couple other RPGs like Dragon Age Inquisition and possibly Diablo III but I just don't feel like I'm going to have the time sink into these type of games. Any game that long is a real stretch for me as there are a lot of other games coming out over the rest of this year that I want to time into and 100-200+ hours is pretty much non-realistic for me. Insane looking game though!

Yeah, I don't think anyone will be saying, " There isn't enough content to justify a $60 purchase".

Yeah, Fallout 3; no other game have I invested more time into, but am eager to do the same if this is just as fun. Looks very promising so far.

Good looking 15 mins there.

Makes me wonder if console version can hold up or how much they will be scaled back.

The voice actor has been fantastic for both prior games and only seems to be getting better. Why should he be speaking with any particular accent anyway?

I see what you're saying, though if we imagine this took place on earth in the distant past (like Middle Earth does from Lord of the Rings, Hobbit), we probably would agree an American accent would seem out of place for the time period of a medieval style game.

It doesn't though, I don't want to spoil anything though so I won't go into more detail.

I have not played the previous 2 games. I didn't even know the same character was IN the previous 2 games. I guess for the sake of continuity they needed to keep him the same. However I still think this character's voice is way too Americanized considering the time period.

Exactly!
It takes place in a fantasy world with magic and monsters. He can have any accent he wants. No accent is "right" for the Witcher world.

Why would ancient Earth inhabitants speak (the Queen's) English as a native language, in the first place. As opposed to, say, Latin or Greek or Norse? Making the English script simply a translation of the events into the English Language. It follows, then, to ask whether the Asian audience feels the same way, and believe the accent of the voice actors is important to their experience?

Though the game itself doesn’t release for another month, CD Projekt RED has announced two new campaigns for the upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the form of the Expansion Pass, adding 30 hours of content to the game in addition to the already-promised free 16 pieces of DLC.

“With the development of Wild Hunt coming to an end, the team has embarked upon the creation of two new really big adventures set in The Witcher universe,” says Marcin Iwiński, CD PROJEKT RED co-founder. “We remember the time when add-on disks truly expanded games by delivering meaningful content. As gamers, we’d like to bring that back. We’ve said in the past that if we ever decide to release paid content, it will be vast in size and represent real value for the money. Both our expansions offer more hours of gameplay than quite a few standalone games out there….While we’re offering the Expansion Pass now, we want to make one thing clear: don’t buy it if you have any doubts. Wait for reviews or play The Witcher and see if you like it first. As always, it’s your call.”

Hearts of Stone will take Geralt on an all-new, 10-hour-plus adventure into the wilds of No Man’s Land and the nooks and alleys of Oxenfurt, where he’ll try to complete a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass. Caught in a thick tangle of deceit, Geralt will need all his cunning and strength to solve the mystery and emerge unscathed.

Blood and Wine, a 20-hour-plus tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint, will take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.

Though no pricing has been confirmed, Hearts of Stone will premiere in October, while Blood and Wine is slated for release in the first quarter of 2016.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a story-driven, next-generation open world role-playing game set in a visually stunning fantasy universe full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. In The Witcher you play as the professional monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, tasked with finding a child of prophecy in a vast open world rich with merchant cities, viking pirate islands, dangerous mountain passes, and forgotten caverns to explore.

Built for endless adventure, the massive open world of The Witcher sets new standards in terms of size, depth and complexity. Traverse a fantastical open world: explore forgotten ruins, caves and shipwrecks, trade with merchants and dwarven smiths in cities, and hunt across the open plains, mountains and seas. Deal with treasonous generals, devious witches and corrupt royalty to provide dark and dangerous services. Make choices that go beyond good & evil, and face their far-reaching consequences.

Based on the critically-acclaimed novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 19, 2015. You can read our hands-on preview of the game from earlier this year by clicking here.

I was expecting the still be knee deep in the Witcher around Oct so I will probably end up getting the DLC, if the price is right.

All true too. Though I sort expect a semi uniform sount. We should take it for granted that they at least Emglish. Stargate never really explained that though. The accents in the LOTR movies for instance, each of Hobbits have different accents despite growing up in 5he some place.

Yeah. I'll have to see how much I get into the main game before I consider the expansions. It's long enough as it us. I may even be finished with Bloodborne by then.

Admittedly I have no LOGICAL answer other than it sounds "right" to my ears. Probably because so many Hollywood movies and games that tackle these types of fantasy stories have done so for so long. Even without the American accent. I just find his Solid Snake/Christian Bale as Batman a little humorous where it shouldn't be. Not a huge deal and I'm still getting the game regardless. It's just something I noticed.

As long as he's not saying things like dude, yo or homie I couldn't care less what "accent" he has. The words make the time period, not the vocalization in my opinion. It's been fine in the previous games, it'll be fine in this.
