I agree that leaving it alone is the best course of action. You know they wont though as too many dollars to be made. I think I would prefer a continuation over a reboot.

Ford as Indy, Spielberg directing and get Lawrence Kasdan to write it.

Oh, and hire snipers to hide around the sets and locations to shoot on site if they see George Lucas.

I actually like the idea of treating Indiana Jones like James Bond. Replace him with different actors, and give us different adventures every few years.

I don't know, the only truly great Indy flick was Raiders of the Lost Ark, so I'm not opposed to seeing more.

I have nothing against Pratt, but as long as Ford is willing and able it should be him in the role. I'd also prefer Pratt (or anyone else) to be introduced as a sort of sidekick who gets to take up the mantle (or hat and whip) once Ford is too old. I see no need to reboot the franchise.

I don't know if I can see Pratt pulling off the role of a professor of archaeology. Swinging around on vines and shooting Nazis? Sure. Being studious and radiating a certain level of book smarts? Not so sure. But til now I've only seen him play slightly goofy roles.

Check out Moneyball and Zero Dark Thirty. Pratt can definitely do more serious roles, and he's great in them. I think he could balance the two sides of Indy well.

Bradley Cooper would be 100 times better than Pratt in the role. Especially from the Dr. standpoint.

This is just something I would have no interest in. Harrison Ford is Indiana Jones. It didn't need a forth film and certainly doesn't need rebooting.

And I like Chris Pratt!

I agree. Also, I am really wanting to see my idea of Indy finding the gates of Hell come to fruition now. I guess I better write Disney, I won't take no for an answer. lol

I actually wouldn't be opposed to that. I've always thought a somewhat horror-themed Indiana Jones film could be cool. Wouldn't specifically have to involve Hell, demons and the like but could also be a haunted mansion or other location, vampires or something like that. The series is established as having a strong supernatural element to it so it would hardly be a stretch.

I don't even think it has to be overly dark, but it would surely be epic. There are a few places in the world (I can think of one in Israel and one in Iraq) where they have uncovered the "Gates of Hell," as they were considered, in Ancient Times. They could set the plot based on one of those archeological discoveries, or go with a new one if they wanted. I say Indy could be sent there based on rumors the surrounding countries were wanting to open the gates believing the armies of Hell would lead them to global domination.

There was actually a children'd book I read as a kid by Frank Peretti based on Indiana Jones that covered this in their first book. I don't remember how the gates of Hell were closed, but I think it had something to do with Pandora's Box. That could be an interesting twist, as well as open the story for more sequels. lol

I liked KOTCS, except for the fact that they ripped off a hong kong parody film of Indiana Jones almost exactly (magic crystal)

So IMO they should have come out with a 5th film back in 2009/2010, you know when Harrison was still in his mid 60s not his mid70s (by the time this gets underway)

I don't like the idea of Pratt as Indy, he's more of a fit to be Nathan Drake

Hell I'd rather see Shia Labeouf take over the hat and whip, i could see him being fit (one day) for that role back in KOTCS (just not back then)

Shia Lebeouf is the Jar Jar Binks of Indiana Jones. I don't ever want to see Shia in another Indiana Jones film again. Can we just pretend KOTCS never happened? It was great seeing Harrison Ford as Indy again, but it wasn't just a bad Indy movie, it is a bad movie period. Let's hope George Lucas has nothing to do with any subsequent Indiana Jones films so he doesn't screw them up the same way he screwed up the Star Wars prequels. And for those of you who doubt anyone else can play Indiana Jones, just take a look at the 007 films. Harrison Ford may have set the gold standard (like Connery) but it doesn't mean someone else can't play the role. I am all for giving Pratt a chance.

Chris Pratt Speaks on Indiana Jones

Quote:
"It's all nothing 'till it's something, and so far it's not something," Chris Pratt said when asked to address the rumours that he will play Indiana Jones in Disney's planned reboot of the Lucasfilm property. As for whether he feels the pressure of potentially taking over the role made famous by Harrison Ford, the Guardians of the Galaxy star added: "No, I don't think it's overwhelming to contemplate. It'd be cool. No one's called me, you know, there's a lot of talk about it. The pressure would come just because it's a great franchise, you wouldn't wanna get it wrong. So, for me, it would have to be perfect to do it. We'll see."

I love how the internet creates these rumors and then the story continues based on those rumors. It's literally something from nothing.
