Thanks for sharing this as it's interesting info! So, a majority of the population only sees between 20 and 32 colors. I see the 39 colors so that puts me in the minority.

Here's another color test from X-rite.

edit: I'll even try to prove that it's merely a trick of the eyes. I've uploaded a very noticeable teal graded shot of that scene. When you roll over the image to see the original, notice how "un-teal" it looks now. It looks quite normal, and that suit that looked green hued in the comparison above looks very much gray now, and the other, like the reds the books spines, etc..look their normal colors too

Ha, your teal shot looks like "The Terminator"...

Well, appears others beat me to it.

FWIW, I don't find any color change here bothersome.

Ouch. I think that one gave me a headache!
I scored a 3, and saw 39 bars on the other one.

That test was much easier, the previous one was hard cause they stuck subtle lines at regular intervals so you were trying to see new colors every time you saw that break.

Your score: 0
Gender: Male
Age range: 30-39
Best score for your gender and age range: 0
Highest score for your gender and age range: 1520

Hooray, I'm now qualified to complain about colors all I want!

Easy peasy, I got a 38 score also. Yes I do see some teal blue tint in those magnificent screenshots but minimal, certainly nowhere near King And I or Inn Of The Sixth Happiness

Everyone says they see 30+ colors on the first one because you can see lines and the test tells you how many there are, and you want to look proficient. Not a very good test.

The second one is much better. I got a great score on three of the bars but I seem to have an issue in the blue spectrum and screwed that one up a good bit. Wonder if that's why I prefer a cooler look with colors, I'm looking for blue I normally don't see well.

I did terribly on the other test, got a 26 lol. I kept staring at it, until all the colors basically looked the same, so lots of second guessing.

26 isn't terrible, it goes all the way up to 1500+ it seems. 26 is very good.

According to the test, a score of 0 represents perfect color acuity and a score of 99 represents low color acuity. I can't imagine what a score of 1520 represents.

Color blind I guess. I had trouble with the blue line only, the other three I got perfect scores on, and I still ended up with like a 70. They need to explain the scoring better.

I know I'm a tetrochromat at least, from taking other tests.

After reading some other articles on this topic apparently not all tetrachromats nor trichromats necessarily see things the same either which makes sense. Some can see slight variations between colors better than others.

Oh I'm sure, I'm not denying I must have a minor issue with variations of blue. I got about a quarter of the blue line wrong, a perfect score in the rest. I'm just saying if that alone gets me a 70 then a 26 is a good score and a 99 wouldn't mean a severe issue.
