Picked up the steelbook a little over an hour ago. Keeping it sealed though!

Holy crap, why did I wander into this thread?! I really thought I could wait for a price drop on the slipped copy in a few weeks but that steelbook is gorgeous, inside and out.

I opened my copy that I bought on Tues and I found a dent on the back. I think I will wait until Tues to exchange it since I will be going there to get Justice League steelbook.

You can really judge how well a movie sold on blu by how long these exclusives take to vanish. Edge of Tomorrow lasted a week or so at my Target, Lucy looks like it will last months.

My Target still had Django Unchained and Ender's Game steelbooks as recently as a month ago.

It all depends on the stock and the area you live in as well. If you live in an area that has limited stock then they will sell. If you live in an area with a lot of collectors they will sell. A lo of different factors play into why a movie goes OOS in some areas and not in others. I mean TMNT the blu ray was sold out at my BB when it cropped to what was it $14.99 and then SB a week before sold out because they got like 8. My area is small I'd say 25,000 but there are a lot of collectors there. Stuff sadly is always selling out quick when it comes to exclusives. It doesn't help that we get limited stock as well.

I exchanged my dented copy at Target yesterday. The new copy is dented too. It is a much smaller dent but it also has paint chips on the back. I know Target will give me grief if I try and exchange again. Anyone else ever exchange a steelbook at Target more than once?

I might grab this if it's still there when Lucy goes on sale soon. Depends on if I can get it for a cheap price.

This does have a separate DPCI than the standard release, so I wouldn't bet on this going on sale even if the standard release does drop in price.

since the barcodes is different from the steelbook if I order for store pickup do you think I'd have a problem with them confusing the steelbook?

Those issues seem to be a thing of the past now, the only way they could pull the wrong one is if they don't bother looking at the DCPI number and just pull "a Lucy blu-ray".

looks like you were right, i placed my order online last night and they had the steelbook waiting for me at the register, she said it was the last one and she even allowed me to use the 5% cartwheel, thanks again.

Dang it! I couldn't get over to my Target release week and now the price has gone up.

Guess I will either have to get the BB exclusive or just wait for the non-exclusive to drop in price...

On a side note, how does Target expect to sell the rest of their exclusive steelbooks (Lucy, Edge of Tomorrow, Fury, 22 Jump Street) if they never go on sale again?

After a while they basically lump them together with the regular amarays when sales occur. That's how I got the Django Unchained Steelbook for like $7 a while back.
