I was probably more anxious than anything. I mentioned in an earlier post that I had ordered from another site based in China--DDDHouse--and had received my items within the 7-10 days they quoted. Likely, I was just spoiled by these guys that I didn't expect it to take longer than it did with them.

I'll continue to wait for it to arrive. Pretty excited for it.

Default Dents & Dings oh my!

What is the general consensus on small dings that are inherent in these wacky steelbooks? I'm fairly new to the game and wondering how many of you go through the exchange game when your steels end up with small dings? I definitely replace with overt dents and scratches but some just have those really small dings...you know the ones I'm talking about. I just got through exchanging the Friday 13th complete collection in the metal tin and I had to exchange 3 times and settled for the lesser of 3 evils! My Bond & Fast/Furious steels are experiencing same dilemmas.

Depends on the situation and where I purchased from. If I know that the exchange will be a hassle (Zavvi), I'll just settle for a small pinhole ding that is only noticeable from a certain angle with light reflecting on it. If I know that an exchange will happen really easily (Amazon), then I fire off an e-mail or activate a chat because I know that it will basically just be a minute of my time and they'll just ship me a new one without having to do anything else beyond that initial contact process. If it's a retail store, I'll take the time to try and exchange it if they have any left. If they are out of stock, I can live with minute dings. If it is a really bad dent then I'll just return it on the spot instead. Usually there is always some other errand that can be taken care of while I'm out as well, so as to not waste a trip should there be no copies left for exchange. However, with retail stores I have got into the habit of opening and inspecting on site after purchasing to try and save myself any extra trips.

For me it's a game of checks and balances depending on the retailer that I purchased from.

Just curious if people who have/buy all/tons of steelbooks have actually seen all the movies they buy. I'm just starting collecting steelbooks but can't imagine buying a movie I haven't seen nor like.

My backlog of movies ATM is through the ceiling. Like you I started out buying steelbooks for movies I really liked...as time wore on I started buying movies I disliked just because I really like the artwork of the steelbook.

I am getting better now in the regards that I try not to buy movies I do not deem as classics but every once and a while the artwork gets the better of me and I buy a crap movie.

I'm not getting down on you but I really don't see why people do that? That's just odd and seems like a waste of money. But again to each their own that's just me.

It depends though. If they wanted to see the film anyhow, they'll be spending the money to buy the Blu-ray to see it. So, if the steelbook artwork is nice enough, what's a couple of more dollars to get the steelbook version just in case you want to keep the film in your collection? If you don't like the film you have a version that is much easier to sell to get most of your money back.

Hello all,

I have been away for quite some time now. I just found out that the Iron Man 2 play.com exclusive goes for quite abit of money.

May I ask why? Is it that limited or...?

And how much does it actually fetch?

Thanks.

When play.com sold it, it was between 15 or 20 gbp

Now play has gone. Its one of the very few marvel releases to have more than one version released either at the time or in subsequent years. Unlike iron man 1. But i don't know how many were stamped at the time could be 2000 could be 4000

I've seen it go ob ebay for between 50 and 100 gbp

What do you mean? I think every Marvel title has had several releases now.

Too many, if you ask me.

Hello.
I'd like to ask is it ok to rub alcohol on a steelbook to take off some glue from a sticker, or better rub it with plain water?

it's a very sensitive area, in the Long Good Friday steelbook, and I'm afraid in case the picture is ruined.

Normally I pick up my steenbooks instore, but I want to order the San Andreas steenbook and I am unable to pick up instore so I will have get it in the post. I have read comments on the forum about starches and dents in the steelbooks. Is this a common occurrence or will I be fine getting the steelbook posted?

Thanks

I think this is a matter of luck.
I have 18 steelbooks and not one came with a single scratch.

Also it depends from what shop you will buy it , and if they package well.

I will be ordering from Target as it is a target exclusive. Do they usually package well?

Does Kimchi ever produce more steelbooks for a certain version of a movie after the pre-order sells out/is released?
