No big deal to me. It's only one song and it was replaced by another cool song anyway by the F.U.'s.

This release looks incredible, I pre-ordered the minute I saw the specs on it.

I assume it's just a matter of growing up with the film hearing it one way, having some strange version with what sounds like "wrong" music to you implemented, and then not being able to see it the way you remember it again. I never saw the film till DVD so I personally don't care, but I don't begrudge the people disappointed by it. At least the UK version is out there for anyone who is REALLY bothered by it.

Deluxe edition ordered! What an amazing collection of extras. I've always had mad love for this film and can't wait to see the new transfer. Scream Factory is doing right with this film.

I grew up with The Damned song on it, and I even owned the soundtrack at the time with "Dead Beat Dance" on cassette. I was really into punk when I was younger and The F.U.'s are a classic band as well, so the replacement song doesn't sound out of place to my ears.

But I do understand people that want the original song, I'm usually like that myself. It's just in this one instance it doesn't bother me.

My memory of it was that the 2 and 3 segments were integrated into the feature, but looking at the DVD specs for "More Brains," I think I'm wrong about that:

Soo...it looks like this Scream Factory release has the "Final Interview," the main documentary, but not any of the other features? If the segments on 2 and 3 aren't included on this new SF disc, I guess that makes me feel less bad about buying the standalone release of More Brains
Yeah, they were separate features, included on the More Brains DVD and Second Sight blu, but apparently not here. Also seems to be missing the extended interviews, RotLD In 3 Minutes, and the featurette where they revisit the old locations (though their Horrors Hallowed Grounds will probably cover most of that territory).

Edit: Oh, and the music video, I guess.

Was introduced to this movie through the old MGM DVD so the one missing song is not a loss in any way for me. The TWO posters and early/free shipping make pre-ordering the deluxe limited edition a no brainer for me. Can't wait to watch the composite cut too

So the difference between the two releases is a second slipcover and two posters?

If only they didn't fold their posters.

The posters are a neat little pre-order bonus, but also sort of worthless because of being folded - so it's hard to say they are worth $10 extra.

I take it the regular collectors edition at least includes 1 slipcover, but no pre-order poster?

Regular preorder = 1 slip, 1 poster & 2 weeks early. $24.93
Deluxe preorder = 2 slips, 2 posters & 3 weeks early. $34.93, but with free shipping.

Ah, what the hell. I decided to pre-order the Deluxe Limited Edition anyway.

Two free posters, two slipcovers, free shipping and a three week early delivery date is a pretty sweet deal. Should be nice to have it when my birthday hits.

2 slipcovers is kinda lame, though. You can't have both on at once. I'd've rathered an extra insert of some kind or something.

Oh, right.
Guess I can use the 2nd slip cover on my other copy of rotld I purchased over the summer. Excited about this edition, I am surprised it did not sell out already.

What i'll probably do is use the second slipcover, put the first slipcover in a display cupboard and use the alternate poster art for the main case.

More or less like what I did with my LE copy of "Nightbreed".

Oh yeah, that makes me think, for completeness' sake, there may be a reason to hang onto the US MGM BD as well as the UK one. Unless the Shout includes both "revised" and "minus one song-original" audio. I first saw the film with the revised audio, so it doesn't bother me, but I think I'd hang onto any of the 3 releases if they have any exclusive songs that don't suck.
The regular edition has the slip shown on the left with the big green tarhead, right? I don't care much for the slip shown on the right with the young dude with messed up eyes in the foreground, so as long as that one's not the regular slip I don't need the deluxe ed.
It would be nice to get this early, but I think shout doesn't ship overseas, and it would probably be expensive if they did.
