Default The Return of the Living Dead (1985) (Collector's Edition)

Quote:
Press Release: Writer/director Dan O’Bannon (Alien, Lifeforce) puts an uproarious spin on the zombie apocalypse movie in 1985’s cult classic THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, starring Clu Gulager (A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge), James Karen (Mulholland Drive) and Don Calfa (Weekend at Bernie’s). Considered one of the campiest undead romps of its time, the film helped launch the career of scream queen Linnea Quigley (Night of the Demons, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama) and features a killer soundtrack with tracks from many songs from punk artists such as The Cramps, T.S.O.L. SSQ and 45 Grave. On July 19, 2016, SCREAM FACTORY™ is proud to present THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD Collector’s Edition Blu-ray set, which includes a brand new 2K scan of the film and over 12 hours of extras!

Wow. In for this too. Im throwing all my money at this company around Halloween.

I have the overseas steel tin with original soundtrack but I love this movie so much, and Im sure Shouts packaging will be sweet.

Besides including the original soundtrack, I don't know what else they can do to get me to double dip for this (especially at $20+).

Original soundtrack included? I'll probably stick with my UK release.

I would bet the UK version will still be the best one, but will be interesting to see what Scream add.

Great timing on the announcement considering the film turns 30 this year!

I had a feeling nearing the day of the announcement, that they announced this.

And I want all the available/known soundtracks!

Too bad it isn't a double with ROTLD 2. I will probably buy it anyway.

Already got my Second Sight steelbook which has a stellar documentary, unless it's an arrow level remaster I'll probably skip it.

Unless the transfer is terrible I'll be picking this one up since I don't have a region free player to get the UK version. I would love to upgrade my DVD to Blu.

Just so you know, the region locking can be bypassed on that one by using the Top Menu button. The majority of the extras, I believe, are PAL format, so your player and/or TV may not be able to play them, but the movie and the More Brains documentary will work fine.

I guess I won't pick up the MGM release after all. Now, if only Shout! had the rights for Wild at Heart; I'm sure Lynch would've been more than happy to support them.

I am just going to hand my paycheck to scream. What a solid lineup, incredible. I don't think I've seen so many releases I've wanted announced in such a short period of time, ever.

Thanks for the info. I forgot what the Top Menu button trick is and will have to look it up again. I use my PS4 to play movies so I hope that's not a problem.

I remember passing on it because I could have sworn I heard from a lot of people that the transfer wasn't that great. Might be wrong and thinking of another film though.
