Chances are it would be Rydstrom who would do the remix, like he did for the 7.1 Jurassic Park. He's also the behind the much whined about Terminator remix.

I thought the Rydstrom 7.1 remix was done exclusively for the 3D disc edition

Oh god yes. Having those dynamics finally on a shiny 5" disc would be awesome.

If "getting it" means blindly accepting wholesale revisionism just to drive a few extra sets of speakers then I hope I never "get it".

I'm only in for the M:I and M:I 2

John Woo is God Tier, speaking of I need more of him and Michael Bay on UHD, Ill settle for a Criterion Armageddon though.

I know $31.99 is just the first listing price and will go down but I gotta have these be $20 each for me to bite.

Finally someone who recognizes the greatness of Woo in M: I 2.

Still waiting on proper western Blu-ray releases for The Killer and Hard Boiled...

Depending on price I might just pick up the first one at release depending on the remaster. The original bluray definitely left a ton of room for improvement.

Come on Criterion!!! and Face/off UHD I need it.

I love De Palma's first entry, doesn't get enough love, especially the final action scene.

Reading more about Ghost Protocol, I didn't even know it was directed by Brad Bird and shot in IMAX, well scenes I mean. Was it in 70mm? Anybody know if it was finished in 4K or 2K DI?

Yes, but even at $20 each that's still $100 for anyone looking to pick up all five movies. Given that the 4 movie Jurassic Park boxset is currently $50 to pre-order from Amazon I think the M:I movies really ought to be offered as a $50-70 range boxset too.

That's what I'm hoping for. I would pick up a boxset in that price point in a heart point.

Both the US DVD and Blu-ray Dolby Digital tracks have gimped bass? Is there a thread I can read more on this? (not doubting you, just genuinely interested to learn more)

Yeah, I don't know that I want to triple dip on those. I surely don't on Mission II.

They lack the dynamic range of the AC3 laserdisc track, most likely it got remixed for near field when it hit shiny 5" disc.

I don't particularly want to see MI2 again, it's an execrable film but Paramount like their UK boxsets so I'll probably end up getting it again anyway.

First two M: I movies are the best, those will never be topped. I love how the first one was more of a high tech spy thriller and then the second entry over the top stylized action. Who better to do this than the masters respectively? The rest of the movies are nice but I wouldn't call them great, especially the third one which is my least favorite.

And yeah, Face/Off on UHD would be a day one buy but then I would also like to have one of the best action movies ever made (and one of my all time favorites): Hard Target.
