Hey, I've been trying to find out a small piece of information. If I update from the app will it restore the movies lost on the site? I've re-entered the 100+ blu-rays, and the dozen or so PS3 games, but I really don't want to have to renter the 1300+ dvd's I've entered in the last week or so. It would be super easy if the information would just re-sync back to my online database.
I've seen a few people trying to get the answer to this and haven't been able to find an answer. Thank you so much for all your help and an absolutely amazing website. On my phone it is my homepage because I almost spend more time on this site than all others combined.

No, You cannot sync from the iPhone/Android app back to the server. If You do an update in the app, its state will be that of the server, which means you will loose everything on your phone. As long as you do not update your phone app, you will have your collection there to help rebuild on the site. We're sorry for the inconvenience. I wish I had a better answer

Wait...so there's no way to get everything from our phones back on the site without re-entering again?

Well that's a big bummer. I'm back to 100% blu-rays and PS3 games. Just don't know if I want to undertake the DVD's again. Is there an export/import option? Where we as users can backup our own collects to a file? I have a "Save offline collection" bookmark on my phone which I was using before the app. Thank you for your answer. It's not what I wanted to hear, but it's better to hear that then to try it and accidentally wipe out the info in the app. That would be more frustrating. Good luck with the rebuilding.

Correct. The info only travels one way.

OK. So when I go through my collection on my phone, press down on the item and click hold? How do I "re-insert?"

I have a question (pardon my ignorance):
I re-added the 9 missing Blu-ray movie titles in MY BD's right here, so I have 283 again...
...but, the "MY MOVIES (Blu-ray.com) APP" only reads that I have 245 movies in my collection.
Is there anyway I can help get the app to match the titles I have here?
Thanks

Any reason why the iOS app isn't compatible with the iPod Touch (2nd Generation) device? If not, can the app be made to support such a device?

I don't understand how people can have a different count between the App and the website database.
At least, mine is correct.

its strange... and in the last seven weeks I only added 9 titles here. So its strange that the app (not the mobile site) is reading that my collection is 245 instead of 9 less than 283

so what is the point of entering movies on my phone if they don't upload to the site?

Question Alphabetization issue

I noticed that when there is an accent on the “e” it affects the Alphabetization on the app but not on the web site.

Deja Vu is put at the end of the Ds.

Leon the Professional is put at the end of the Ls.

All my other 500+ titles are alphabetized correctly & the same on the web site vs. the app.

Anyone else notice this issue?

Default Doesn't work for iPad......

I have the "new" iPad.....(3)....when I downloaded it......I end up with a black box (app icon).....It is still "scaled" to iPhone size (works fine on my iPhone 4), so when you open the app you have to zoom it (2X), and its really blurry. The black box icon should be the Blue "B".......please fix this , or make an iPad version.......please?

Yes, we are aware of this issue with the icon on iPad 3. This will be fixed in the next release (as far as testing in the iPad 3 simulator has shown). The app is iPhone only at the moment, building this kind of application to suit larger screens would need a complete new design of the user interface.

I think there might be a misunderstanding. When you update your collection in the phone app what it really does is download the collection as it is on the website. Whatever you had in your app in the phone is erased and replaced.

When you add movies in the phone app, they are also added to your collection on the website so when you do an update in the phone it should really be what you already had on your phone. However, if you add titles to your collection using the website, your phone has no way knowing this and thus will be out of sync, so next time using your phone you should to do an update to get the most recent status of your collection.

The question asked earlier about uploading your collection from your phone to the website would be a handy feature to do a bulk upload, especially now with the database crash, but we have not implemented this. Doing an update in the phone would be really bad when the database had crashed as you would loose your collection in the phone.
I hope this answers your questions.

Question: My Collection in my phone app reads: "247" (its updated)
The collection at Blu-ray.com reads: "(268 movies, 17 TV seasons, 247 SKUs)"
So the "collection" in the app is really just the SKU's, not titles?

Default Turn off auto update

Under settings you can select "Never" for update. Then you will have a back up in case of another data loss on the web site. If you set it to update 1x/day, 1x/wk etc. -- it will D/L whatever is on the web site so you lose the ability to compare or reference what you had. You can easily manually update using the update button whenever you wish.

yeah I got that, thats why I asked. If I add it on my phone first I have to add it twice, if I add it online first I only have to add it once and update it on the app.
