The U.S. dvd I believe is full screen, unless a new one has been issued. There is a widescreen U.K. edition with better picture and sound but it is region 2. If you have a region free player I would go with that. And it's an origin story like the original Superman so you don't actually see The Lone Ranger until the last half of the movie but it's Ok since it answers a few questions.

Thanks 4 the tip on the UK edition(I've been getting their crime dramas lately, such as The Bridge, DCI: Banks, Prime Suspect, etc.), I looked at it but they want 2 much $$ 4 it! I'll just stick w/BB 4 now.

I don't think it will have anything to do with the actors. It'll be because it was some hugely budgeted, slapstick , comedic flop of a storyline with no substance. this is the next "John Carter" or "Jack the Giant slayer" ... it's gonna bomb HARD

Ask anyone on the street who is the Lone Ranger, and they will all say "Klinton Spilsbury, of course!!"

I just asked 5 people in my office who is the Lone Ranger and they all said Klinton Spilsbury....of course 2 of them have his picture hanging in their cubicle, but never the less, it's ingrained in our culture just like Rocky Balboa and Sylvester Stallone.

Disagree agreeably, when u say THE LONE RANGER the 1st thing that comes 2 my mind is the GREAT CLAYTON MOORE & JAY SILVERHEELS. They r what u call classy & awesome, #1 in my book!!! They r

And I believe the same can be said of ARMIE HAMMER as .L.R. & hopefully JOHNNY DEPP in his role of TONTO!!!

U know what I think would make a GREAT remake like the new T.L.R. would b a remake of DANIEL BOONE(ala FESS PARKER)! This would b & make me & those that luv these classics .

Clayton Moore, on his deathbed, said his one regret was that he was not a better Lone Ranger than Klinton Spilsbury.

Also, in his will, Clayton left half his estate to Klinton in appreciation of his masterful turn as the Lone Ranger.

Just curious, were any of those people under the age of 25?

If I had to guess I would say probably 75% of the US population from 18 to 25 have never seen an episode of The Lone Ranger.

Only one was in their 20's, 2 were in their 30's, one in his 40's and the fifth person checks the obituaries each day to see if her name is listed.

I will never forget what it was like back in 1981 when Klinton Spilsbury mania hit...It was very much like when the Beatles arrived in America although i am guessing as that was a little before my time. The amount of merchandise with his likeness on it was astounding and I still have some of his toys and underwear line stored away at my parents house.

Wow...it's like i am in an episode of the Twilight Zone and have been transported to a world where nobody knows who Klinton Spilsbury is. The man is a legend and has influenced more actors than Brando and De Niro put together.
