Network has fixed the discounting error. Bracing myself for a cancellation advice.

I feel I’ve exhausted most Network sales at this point, but History of Mr. Polly could be fun. The Crimson Petal and the White has a great cast. Ripping Yarns also!

I was looking around to see if any blu ray included in sale, seems not at moment, and noticed Ipcress file seems no longer available. Not sure if it is just a temporary thing.

Although no Blu-rays in the sale, they have trimmed a few prices. E.g. The two Sweeney films are now £7.50 each. EDIT: BD prices have gone back to normal now. Last edited by BobRusk; 11-22-2020 at 01:05 PM. |

Happy to see some of the recent Blu-rays have had extras, maybe I’ll pick up Eyewitness. The Siege of Pinchgut has some interviews, and The Man in Grey has James Mason: The Star They Loved to Hate.

Network has extended the current DVD sale until Wednesday. Surely, they'll do something else for Black Friday. |

Then an American television network became interested in the project and turned it into a big-budget co-production shot on film and decided they needed a big name star in the lead role and Michael Caine was drafted in. (Foster and some other actors were paid off i believe) It is well worth a punt in my opinion, i saw the original transmission in 1988 so naturally have a soft spot for it, it has a lot of historical inaccuracies and is based on a discredited conspiracy theory but it is an enjoyable drama and Caine is in top form as is the rest of an excellent cast. The Network BD is top-drawer and is easily the best it has ever looked. (You have the option of watching the original 2-part broadcast version in 1.33:1 or an edited together full length film version in 1.78:1) Last edited by benkell; 11-25-2020 at 09:42 PM. |
