Great news, after getting the Tsukamoto triple bill and both Pink Films volumes last month I was planning to place an order for more recent TWF releases and I'll be sure to add this to the list

Might end up double-dipping and getting Third Window Films' release of Gemini.

Hi Third Window, from MM. I am a big fan of what you do.

Just wanted to point out that the only one of those featurettes to not have subs is the 20 minute "behind the scenes" featurette that basically only has background chatter and nothing of any real importance said. But I think you are making the right move in having it subbed. Had it been my call, I would have done the same.

Good deal on the Tom Mes commentary too. I also like the art you've had done for this one.

Can't wait to see what else TWF has in store. I've been very much enjoying your Pink Films series.

thanks! Luckily I can do subtitles myself so was able to sub it pretty easily. Though not sure how you guys fit it onto a BD25 and made it look so good as we had to use a BD50 which certainly made things more expensive

Ah, yes. That's all down to David Mackenzie doing the compression for this one. He's a f*ck*ng wizard and can pull off miracles.

This morning I'm reading a conversation between two important contributors to the diversity and wealth of interesting titles to be found on my physical media shelves. Thanks both!

(Hope that didn't sound too creepy. )

not yet as may include a separate film on the disc as well, so figuring out what to do with the release and when it would be finished

Thanks to your beautiful label I was able to see both Fish Story and Melancholic over the weekend, and they both stole my heart. I used to make a lot of blind buys from Japan, searching for films like these when no one outside Japan would offer them. There's nothing quite like them, and I missed not having the opportunity to discover them as other priorities took over.

It must be tough to get these releases sorted and onto store shelves when most people have switched to flat-rate movie mania. I don't care about many, I want these. You really have a knack for picking the kind of off-beat drama that appeals to me, so thank you for keeping the dream alive, Adam.

By the way, the releases are as splendid as the films. Buy, don't wait.

TWF - Is there any chance of a Funky Forest release? I've been dying to see it for awhile now.

Got around to watching Stardust Brothers the other day and really enjoyed it. It has an anarchic low budget spirit and you can see it being a film that would have been ruined by having a bit more money behind it because the freedom to be so ridiculous would be lost to funders that wondered why the hell any of this stuff was going on. It's pretty indescribable in plot terms, but a hell of a lot of fun. I think Adam said they were running low on the LE with the soundtrack and slip so do grab it while you can.

I watched it a little while ago and enjoyed it. I listened to the accompanying CD a few days afterwards and seemed to enjoy the soundtrack even more. Really catchy stuff.

because of the film's length, it's an expensive release due to BBFC costs (who charge by minute of screen time) plus needing to go onto a BD50, so would depend on sales of Taste of Tea to be honest.

yeah, not many left of the edition with the CD, though vinyl is now out too, but also very limited numbers on that as well

Any chance of any Kōhei Oguri or Aoyama's Eureka (which I don't think would need rated by the BBFC again, owing to the old release)?
