I have a PS5 already and so the Xbox is like a secondary system. A lot of it is to be able to play what games I can't access on the PS5.

I'm not sure if there's a Series exclusive title yet but there eventually will be. MS originally said there would be no exclusives for "the first couple of years" from their first parties but of course anything can change.

That’s good to know, thank you. Still having no luck getting a Series X console after more than a year.

Whatever keeps you off the couch I guess.

Honestly, I never see you online whenever I'm on my PS5, unless it's just the time difference.

Just saw a tweet from Eden Marie @neonepiphany who is the engineering lead at XBOX asking all Insiders to spam the crap out of them with bug reports whenever you experience performance issues when pressing the guide button. They’ve added more logging to try and figure out the issue. File them under Guide>Guide Performance. Apparently their ideal response time is no more than 200ms so they’re acknowledging something is VERY wrong right now.

Just saw this too, glad this isn't a regular thing. My first time experiencing the Series X after a year with PS5 and I was kinda bumbed at how slow it was to pull up that menu whilst playing Halo as well as the laggy Achievement notifications juddering across the screen

Hopefully they fix it soon.

Follow @lordofrestocks on twitter and set notifications on. Within 30 days of following him I scored both a PS5 and Xbox Series X and I was only trying when Best Buy had them due to wanting to use my Best Buy card to get the financing. I didn't try at all when he sent out links for Amazon, Target, Costco, etc.

Shouldn't a Crucial X6 500 GB SSD external hard drive work with the Xbox series S?

I can't get it to work.

I saw this on Amazon. Not sure if the cable you're using is USB 3.0. That's one of the minimum requirements. The drive may be USB 3.0 but they probably cheaped out on the cable.

I want to use this for just storage on a ps5 & xbox series x. will any cable that is usb c & usb a on other end work?

-Answer:Mine does not format for Xbox Series X|S storage out of the box. You need a USB C to A and it has to be at least 3.0 or faster.
By Dayday on November 17, 2021

-Thank you for showing interest in Crucial. Yes, it is compatible with PS5 or Xbox Series X and any USB Type-C or USB Type-A will work with Crucial X6 SSD.
By Micron CPG Customer Service MANUFACTURER on October 31, 2021

-Should be fine. Mine came with a usb-c cord that I lost for quite a while and used a usual usb-a to usb-c without a problem. The connection on the hard drive is usb-c and you can put that out to usb-c or usb-a; I have used without a problem.

That looks like just an adapter and not an actual cable so if the cable you already have is <3.0 it won't matter.

Try something like this.

I’d 100% have bought one of those if they were available. This is purely a gamepass machine for me so the disc drive is surplus.

I’m just happy to have got one. We had 8 delivered in work before Xmas and I guess no one knew we had any because we still had two left when I finally bought mine after Xmas.

It was worth it just to play Halo though, I probably had more fun playing that than anything I played on PS5 over the last year. I’m just starting ratchet and clank though and graphics wise that game is light years ahead of Halo. But it has the advantage of being a pure next gen game where as halo has to work on base Xbox One and you can really tell that by the loading times even on Series X. The game levels are designed to allow for background loading. Lots of elevator rides and dialogue sequences and lots of hallways separated by sliding doors to slow your progress though levels.

I really cannot wait for MS to start releasing Series exclusive games so there’s no compromises for last gen.

If it wasn't for the fact that I have several discs (a handful from this gen, but mostly last gen), I would be all for an all digital Series X (Series XX?). The fact that too many games require you to download a good portion of the games for no apparent reason on Xbox when you don't have to do the same on PS5 (much better compression and using UHDs on PS5 helps), does actually make physical copies a lot more useless on Xbox. For now, I'd still consider physical over digital just because I've always been that way and it tends to be cheaper that way for a while, but Xbox would be the only console I'd consider going all digital with.

The only reason I bought the disc drive was two fold.

1. For the movie playback. I've since bought a Panasonic 820 because the consoles are obviously never getting DV for UHD.

2. I have too many Xbox and 360 titles on disc that would cost way more than the extra $100 to repurchase digital.

Well, the case of the Series X vs. Series S is a bit different than simply an all digital version of the Series X. Even if I was all digital, I would have gotten the Series X because it's the vastly superior console between the two if you care about power.
