Well, the box set will include Rise of Skywalker too. I hope they are re-releasing Solo on 4k with the new packaging they just came out with for the Blu-ray re-release back in September 2019.

Wait a minute, TRoS isn't going to have a matching cover to all the other films? Or under the slip case will it match? Because if I decide to cancel my box set PO, that will really annoy me that all the individual releases dont match up.

It won't match, but neither will The Last Jedi or Solo (for the 4K).

Well if anybody really wants the cheapest way to go it will be Disney Movie Club during a 60% off sale. $34.95 + (8*$13.98) = $146.79. Granted, this assumes you are already VIP, but even without VIP you could do 40-50% off.

Unfortunately, this isn’t correct. The new policy is to charge on the fifth day after placing an order or when an item dispatches. Whichever is soonest. So anyone’s card that has a hold placed on it, will be charged for it in 5 days time.

They began this last year and it was supposed to have been a trial. They got a lot of complaints and rolled it back so that it didn’t apply to movies/videogames. Perhaps they are now changing this? When I complained in the past (to the Executive Customer Services, not the standard CS) I was told it was a new policy done in accordance with a new EU law that was coming in. I still have the email with the link I think. Will try and dig it out.

I placed my order for this when it first went live weeks ago and haven’t been charged however, so it must be a recent change.

*Edit*

Here it is, with a link if anyone is interested.

"I can confirm that the change in our payment process is to align with EU law. For further information, you can click the link below to the European Commission's website, to find FAQ's on the Payment Services Directive:

https://ec.europa.eu/commission/pres...n/MEMO_15_5793

The new process means that immediately after you place an order, we authorise the full purchase amount. We then charge the full purchase amount when all the items included in your order have been dispatched, or should an item require more than five days for dispatching, your payment method is charged on the fifth day since your order was placed. If cancelled after this five-day period, we would then issue a full refund for the charge that had been made."

The link is a long, boring read. I have to warn you. .

Are all the films in the Skywalker box set going to have Dolby Vision? Are the 4K discs in this set going to be identical to the individual editions. Because if they're identical I might as well get the individual editions. I'm confused because the box set says Dolby Vision and HDR10, while the individuals say only HDR10

I'm only buying Episodes I-VI and Rogue One. I will wait until each individual release gets down to $20. Can't imagine spending $30 for a movie I have purchased 3 times already (VHS, DVD, & Blu-ray).
Yeah. $10 to $15 like most of my 4K discs. $20 if its a new release that I'm dying to watch. $30 if its a limited edition steelbook/digipack that I think is going to sell out, I know that I have to have it, and that it's only going to be more expensive later. But yeah, generally $10 to $15, sometimes more.

I have no reason to pay more than that. I feel better when I get deals on things I don't need, and conversely, overpaying leads to me to buyer's remorse later. I don't like it when I get to black Friday and then there's a dozen movies for ten dollars or less that I purchased earlier in the year and still haven't unwrapped some of them.

I really hope the Sequel Trilogy will be given much more appreciation as time goes on.

Glad I could pick up the whole saga at once in as compact a case as it comes in.

Also, I'm pleasantly surprised by the number of special features they're retaining. I no longer have the time to exhaust a bonus disc's content for each movie I buy, but I'm glad it's available for those who want it, and I definitely tend to take an interest in some of the features here and there.
I like the design, the art, the different sized layout, all that jazz - APART from those godawful sleeves that house the discs. Why Disnee, WHY??!??!? I mean, if they just put a little cut-out down the centre so we can at least 'hook' the disc with a finger and slide it out, or go with the 'half moon' type opening as on the Bond 50 BD set or the Fast and Furious 4K collection, then that'd be fine with me but those tight-ass sleeves are moronic.

That said I'm still keeping my order for the UK set @ £180, I was very very tempted to order the Nordic individuals but they're not out until the beginning of May (plus postage time on top of that), it's bad enough that the UK set isn't out until 20th of April but I can live with that. I'll still need to pick up Rogue One at some point but with no sign of any UK individuals at all (Disnee are probably saving them for a few months later) then it's gonna have to be an import for that one.

If the boxset is truly limited edition then I hope we do get the individuals over here at some point, I'll probably snap those up in a 2 for £30 offer and sell the box set

As with the prequels, time will not be kind to them.

once the 'newness' factor wears off then you're simply analyzing the value of the material, it's cohesive storytelling, and its worth relative to both its source and the genre.

With the art on the individual releases being airbrushed into uniformity, and seeing the various packages for the whole Saga, I'm now betting we won't see separate "trilogy packs" at all... at least not for awhile. It's lookin' to me like they're desperately trying to sell this all as one coherent saga, downplaying the differences between the three different eras.

Bummer, 'cuz the "three separate trilogy sets" would be my preferred delivery mechanism. That's the way I have 'em now on my shelf... and frankly those older trilogy cases are exactly where these new UHD discs will end up after I buy the Big Box and put it in the closet next to my olde timey THX LaserDisc black box.

It's a pretty safe bet that the only film that's going to be DV is TLJ since it already is. As had been discussed several times, Disney doesnt do DV on disc.

You can bet it'll be released in a million and one formats and packages from here to eternity.
I don't know that anyone is complaining about the price...unless it's the price for a boxed set that doesn't include anything remotely significant or isn't of much better value than buying separately.

There's really no positive about this.

And yet the 'saga' TLJ UHD disc is apparently carrying different audio and subtitle options to the previous versions, so even that one may not have DV after all.

Ugh, I feel the obsessive-compulsive pull to pre-order this thing even though I know intellectually there's absolutely no reason to do that; I'm sure I'd be able to find one on release day, no problem. But Disnee (nod to Geoff) has me totally suckered with their "Limited Edition" verbiage. Blerg. I hate being manipulated.
