I do have a serious question though.

We're supposedly getting a new theater in our area around summer time. Does anyone know how MoviePass handles adding new theaters to their system?
I think generally you just contact customer service and ask if they could add the theater, and from what I've read they're always pretty fast with it. But of course that was before the huge surge in customers and the decline of their CS reputation so who knows how it'd go now

While I don't mind having to use the latter option every single time, I jut find it annoying this hasn't been fixed in over a month.

No, its against the TOS to buy an advance ticket.

Well shit happens. Checked in for the 10:20 preview night showing of Downsizing and due to technical issues with the movie keys the movie didn't start til 11:10

As for the movie not listed option....that's for them to flag the theater and for them to pull the times better from a better source. That happened to me at the Alamo for opening weekend of Thor 3. It worked just fine.

Well my first reach out with a CSR ended up with NO response during the whole Jamanji thing. Had I known about the 30 minute wait out for the card to reset I might have saw another movie instead of going home.

The new AMC theater by me opened up right before Halloween a few months back and still isn’t eligible for MoviePass yet. Hoping that’ll change in the coming months, if not weeks.

This is what concerns me. We have one theater in our town, and they are opening up a brand new one and will probably close the old one down immediately.

Holy crap, just checked the app again, and you’re right. I swear, I’ve looked every day in December, and they never had AMC Pembroke Lakes up yet.

Maybe my post today helped speed up the process.

Gonna try it this week. They have kiosks there instead of a standard box office, so I doubt it’ll reject my card.

I actually had a theater which had not been listed at least since September when I got MoviePass (I think they weren't listed before because they use recliners and charge $18, $3 more than other theaters in the chain do) appear in the app in the last couple weeks.

And went tonight to see Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool and it worked perfectly, so they sometimes do add theaters.

From what I can tell I am lucky so far in my area. None of the two Regal's near me have installed recliners. The two Cinemarks have, with one making it feel like you are so isolated with these barriers between rows. This can be a good thing as I feel like I can't even tell if someone is behind or infront of me. But they don't charge extra for Recliners....that's pretty dumb to charge for.

That's a lot, there's (I believe) only 7 films I've seen theatrically double digit times.

I imagine people like us who go to the movies 12+ times a month make MoviePass a sad panda.

I went to see what I thought was a regular 2D screening of TLJ the other day, but it turned out to be an MX4D screening (with the seats that shake, fog effects, etc.). It wasn't listed on the app as MX4D, and it let me check in. At the box office the cashier told me it was MX4D and I'd have to pay the difference, which was $8. The total price was $25. In this case the theater either failed to list it as an MX4D screening, or Moviepass allows these kind of showings to be a part of their program.

That's iffy. I am not too sure if theaters keep records of their show times after each week. MP could accuse you of doing a split transaction and knowing it was a premium screening and ban you or fine you for their mistake. I know xD and Dolby Atmos was showing up but were eventually grayed out for theaters in my area. So it's only a matter of time before it catches up.

They really should make it an option somehow where they pay the 2D viewing of a ticket and you pay the rest out of pocket. Plus online ticket buying, for the right movies I'd even be okay paying the service fee myself.
